There's only 20 levels per class though and once you die you start a new character. I'm not sure but I think you don't technically have to pay anything and you can buy more classes with in-game gold.
As usual, you can pay to skip the fun of the game. And get *chuckles*
custom appearance !I guess maybe some of the really interesting things are behind the pay wall, but the majority of what I've seen isn't.
