WPF and Melee Speed

Today I made an alt, and recorded a few swings of the barmace and the bastard sword at 1, 50, 100, 150, and 172 wpf.

Playlist here.

Unfortunately I accidentally captured BigSandwich's Steam friends name in the 1 wpf bastard sword video, so I've cut it out of the playlist for now until I can edit it out.

I personally can't tell much of a difference past 50 wpf for the bastard sword, and past 100 wpf for the barmace. That's just me though - I could be mistaken.

Checked the videos.. I think you should have done the same swing for longer time/the whole time. It'd be easier to check the differences then and even count how many extra attacks you get off in a given amount of time. Can't really tell the difference from those videos... although there might not really be any noticeable difference.

Interesting...
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

So, if not speed, what effect does WPF give?

Damage. At 100 WPF the weapon is performing at its listed stats. Also, according to Walt's previous research, 100 WPF will give you a swing speed increase of roughly 1/10th of a second. Again, not a huge deal. That's why after armor penalty you only need around 100 WPF.

The difference from wpf is not that huge. I think the estimation of waltf4 was "for every 60 wpf you gain 1 point in weapon speed".

Does damage correlate in a similar way as the "1 speed per 60 wpf"?
And how!

This is bull.

WPF should mean something.  I am sick and tired of this game catering to hybrids.  We have strategus so people can specialize in certain play styles.  Please put limitations on all weapons using WPF.  Also make WPF mean something.

This. WM has little to offer compared to skills like PS, IF or ATH.
