Blah, don't let the 'old times' feeling blind you.

It wasn't fun to meet lul2h spammer who 1hitstabbed/slashed everybody with his 220WPF Übermensch character either.

Good times.

indeed for me.. i just had to get in close quarters and spam overheads with my 95 speed +3 crushthru morningstar and 11PS often onehitting while crushing thru steelshields. all this with 9IF, 5WM, 5ATH, 200 gen-stacked 2h wpf and my good old godmode lordly coat of plates + lordly heavy gauntlets.

then the game got fixed and i had to relearn how to play from easy mode to normal mode.

Blah, don't let the 'old times' feeling blind you.

have you ever met Uthred? he had a +3 great maul with a 18/30 build (the great maul was 18 difficulty back there). 10 athletics + greatmaul + 220 wpf isn't something you really want to fight against.

Hah, I remember that Corrado, we had our fair share of fights.

What an annoyance that MS was..

PS: Yes, I've met him. Just like Burrick, Pully and other guys, he was a pain in the arse to face.

Good times.

Yup good times indeed.

Every weapon/armor/stats was so unbalanced that it eventually balanced eachother out.

Strong Pierce Bec, Strong Archery, Evil Nasty Tincan Armor, Evul Morning Star even better and much much more.

Still fun as hell grinding gold and then deciding what to buy with your hard earned money while watching your char grow stronger and stronger. And always fun following the high levels/vets and trying to get gold/xp without having to worry about upkeep.

Where's my time machine?

i don't miss em.

because now even with top gear you still need some brain use. while back there, a gen10 level 45 could take out 10 opponents even when used by the grandma of the char owner.

EDIT:

and with all those retarded "At fifteen, I had the will to  learn ; at thirty, I could stand ; at forty, I had no  doubts ; at fifty, I understood the heavenly Bidding ;  at sixty, my ears were opened ; at seventy, I could  do as my heart lusted without trespassing from the  square." comments, chadz should really take down the servers, delete the whole char database and finally put a blank crpg.net homepage with a text saying "At fifteen, I had the will to  learn ; at thirty, I could stand ; at forty, I had no  doubts ; at fifty, I understood the heavenly Bidding ;  at sixty, my ears were opened ; at seventy, I could  do as my heart lusted without trespassing from the  square.".

Everything is still easy.

I am not being fooled by 'good old times' feelings. I do agree the situation was unbalanced.

But I dare say the earliest versions of c-rpg (before stuff like crushtrough was even an issue) were the best and gave you a feeling of accomplishment. Nowadays it's just another 1k gold you grinded in a small time, and a figure like 600k gold is nothing special anymore. This also means that having high end gear isn't special anymore at all.

I'm not feeling like recent patches were steps forward, but more like steps backward. Things have become too complicated and boring.
Don't mind the fish.

Gazda_The_Retarded_Drama_Queen is back even though he made a huge whiny cryfest thread where he announced he's quitting?
