1 hand cav 21/18

Im going to go 1 handed cav this gen but its a build ive never really played before is it worth going for a 21/18 build in order to get the extra 1 riding? I'd have to give up any athletics or IF obviously.

6 riding is not worth it for a 1h cav unless. 6 riding is for high speed lancers using courser.

You have too much shield/athletics and not enough ironflesh.  you'll be 1shot on your horse routinely if you arent wearing very heavy armor.  Remember, speed bonus can work AGAINST you as well as for you.

If you think you'll ever use a lance on occasion (good for first charge attack) you might wanna put about 75 points in polearm, that'll increase your dmg substantially.

uh what? Hitpoints are worth even MORE if you are wearing armor, because they're better protected.  Just like an mmo.

A wizard with 1000 hitpoints means nothing if he takes 800dmg per hit.
 
with under 60hp if you wear mail armor or under, you will be 1shot by lancers, xbows, loljumpswingz on a regular basis

No i mean if i get 5 IF and only wear medium armour (which i plan to do) the extra 10 hp isnt worth it really. Id need some pretty heavy armour to make the investment worth it. We're agreeing basically i think lol.

if you get it, you'll survive several encounter with very low/next to nothing hp, which you wouldnt have survived if you didnt have it.

Yea thats pretty much how mine would be as well. Is the 28 pole wpf worth it?

I also recommand you 18/18 built, if is pretty important and ath is also important, you will lose your horse in most of rounds you ll play, so if you want to be efficient as an inf, get some athletic.
And 6 riding isn't worth it (in my opinion), 5 is largely enough.
