Dear cRPG community,
We all are seeking a nice and comfortable forum environment where we can express our ideas, discuss things and announce news relevant to our clans, characters or similar.
We also know that this medium can easily be manipulated to divert ideas, insult people and create unnecessary tension.
All account bans, mutes are here to avoid or revert the things mentioned in the second sentence, and to present an athmosphere to let people get the fun of this game.
This monitoring system depends on free players to report unwanted posts to forum admins and moderators. And the latter group is expected to take action accordingly. What seems to be missing in the whole system is the tracking of "naughty" accounts. An account can be punished with temporary mute if it commits a problematic post/s. The main idea behind this is to remind him the rules and give him a second chance to think how he needs to act in this society. And this account is expected to fit in the rules after his mute is over.
But
What will happen to the accounts which insist on breaking the rules over and over again, whenever their mute are over ? Isn't this a sign that these account holders are not taking the mute punishment serious? What I suggest is a way to track the number of temporary mutes an account has been given, and if this number is over a threshold, say 3, the account then be banned permanently.
What do you think?
