Drop down ladders

Can we get a consistent and clear ruling from the admins whether or not drop down ladders are allowed?  And whatever is determined can it be ADDED to the POSTED rules please

Drop ladders are the ones that hang over the edge of a roof and allow attackers to hop down without taking fall damage but defenders cant easily reach them to destroy them.

Besides removing awful 'siege attack' map from rotation in which drop down ladders trivialize, can we get a ruling on these ladders?

Technically they aren't allowed unless they actually hit the ground.  if they go all the way to the ground they're fine. Now its almost impossible to rule whether it was intentional they're set up so they don't hit hte ground or just bad ladder placement.   If they moved forward a little the ladders would hit the ground.

Just because people place a bad ladder doesn't mean they deserve a ban but if the intentionally exploit the fact that the ladders won't touch the ground then it could be grounds for banning.

You seem kinda wishywashy with your response Bob.  If its against the rules, you and the admins need to enforce it.  Post it in the rules, MOTD, inform people it IS against the rules. 

Unless someone is standing at the edge of the roof, nearly everyone intends the ladder to hang in the air.

The rules are based on intent.  For now its not enforced until the map list is changed or ecko or donk disagree.

ya banning mori was prob overkill though, kick would have gotten point across. gotta do more PR to tell them its against the rules and that it WILL be enforced.  I'm tempted myself to get a macro program so I can save my sayings and just press a key.

Could you just ask them chop the ladders down and keep telling them its against the rules.

If earth wants to enforce it that's fine. Its not really about the rule its about enforcement.  If he wants to stay in spec more power too him.  In generally I'm too lazy to enforce it because I'd have to stay in spec the whole damn map.

I unbanned him within 5 minutes after talking to him, so it basically was a kick ;).
