As it is, Strat is pretty much a 60 on 60 battle. You pick your roster haphazardly and hope that your opponent doesnt engage in some cheese tactic that counters your mainly 2h/pole/shield army. Once you picked out who will be in the battle, you either spend a good 1-2 hours straight fighting a grinding war that is mentally exausting and stuck with the same roster of people. This sucks ass if you're attacking a fief, and find out that your army of cavalry and footmen get picked off by rooftop camping archers and pikes. The worst part about this is that there is nothing you can do except retreat in this situation.
What would be better is have the regular strat battle, 60 vs 60, but each team have a pool of reserve players (30?) that can switch in for other players. This way if a situation requires more shieldres/range/whatever, a commander can switch players and have the necessary classes needed for the new tactical situation. This would be great for the new players, because those who are not "experienced" have a chance to participate, especially if they have a needed skill that lends them to be useful. These "reserves" could be chilling on a separate server dueling to practice/warm up while waiting to be called into action.
Any thoughts?
