Don't do something generic like damage over time.

Make them act like a drunkard, or maybe they should fall asleep! Or maybe some Assassin's Creed shit where suddenly you go nuts and start swinging everywhere!! Or maybe you lose weapon proficiency!! SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!!!!?!?!?!?!?! :shock:

It probably wouldn't work on glances, and if it works the way OP specified, the tin can would still live cause it only does 20 hp.
