Yep and oddly enough, i never did. Ah well... it's not really needed tbh. I just tap sheathe weapon, drop weapon (drops shield when no weapon in hand), mousewheel down for my secondary shield and then up for my weapon.

One reason not to macro that is i can't do the whole thing fast enough. Sometimes i have to block after selecting shield. Sometimes i select my weapon first. It's situational.

yup, as in the total weight for both shields is more than just the addition of both. Man we really need to get someone to document this shit, if I hadn't seen most of it develop from early on I'd be totally surprised when someone tells me these seemingly random rules. Must suck for new players.

It does, but we're so ignorant we don't even know it sucks.

Beat me to it D:!

Do you know the exact encumbrance increase for multiple shields? It is a pretty big penalty for carrying more than 1 shield is all I know.
Also, I have declared myself #1 NA hybrid thrower
Formerly known as Marathon.
As an NA admin, I am the most laid back and concerned with the ~fun of the game~ above all other factors. I've also been super inactive since Summer 2012. University takes most of my time, but I still find some time to play when i can.

Normal items and the first shield add their weight to the encumbrance value.
Additional shields add their weight + weight * 4 to the encumbrance value.

Does the size of the shield on the back matter?
Does the ranged attack need to hit the shield in order to reduce the damage taken, or does it always work as long as the attack hits the back?

I wonder if the shield skill also increases the force field on your back.
