Off hand torch

Would it be possible to have the torch be 0 difficulty shield with 1 hp and 0 armor as well as the smallest possible coverage, just so we can use it to light up the way and stuff, would be nicer than beeing forced to switch weapons around.

What about having it as a sheathed weapon in the left hand? This would seriously bug up if you have a shield though, maybe make the shield override it then (like 2 different weapons on the back only shows one if they both use the same space). Dunno if this would work fine but then we could also manual block with the 1hander. I would use it all the time.

Even if it had 1 hp if someone had 13 shield skill they would have an invulnerable... torch?

it would be impossible to manual block since you have a shield

you cant use a shield with it


perhaps there is a work around for the sake of the sacred torch carriers

That's why i said it should be in your left hand when Sheathed. Like when the sword is in the scabbard or bow on your back, the torch would be in your left hand. As I said in my earlier post it would look funny with a shield, though, but if the shield "overrode" the torch then it might work.

Solution is simple. Torch hat. It's easily made by setting your head on fire.

A 0 coverage shield perhaps, on second though, screw it, that means the torch bearer cant block in anyway.

Hmm... does it have to a be a weapon or shield? Maybe, just making a gloves that look like player is carrying a torch in left hand will work. If this is possible only tackle would be if the player uses a shield it will look ridiculous.

Yeah, should be possible, you'd have to switch the fake torch gloves with regular ones when taking out a shield though.
Fun fact, the game already has a wield left handed item flag but it only works for the main weapon.

edit: Yup, doable, needs gloves. You'd have to make new textures for torch with gloves included or it will look wooden.
Bwhahaha I will carry my crossbow in the left hand.

Still, with modifyable carry slots this would be even easier, there's enough free ones left, but I can't find them.

Nice! That looks really cool. That should be a way for non-shield onehanders to "sheath" their crossbow, making it faster to swap between them. Would also look cool with the torch we're discussing and the bow too.

Ah, don't celebrate to early there's still the fire issue with the torch. It won't follow the stick (or I don't know how to make it) and you'd set yourself alight half of the time (left block presses torch against leg f.e.).

Bah! All real dungeon explorers burn their own beard every now and then, just for shitz and gigglez! And yes, all dungeon explorers (at least the real ones) have beards.
