I picked it up in the steam sales for about £3. I admit it is a laugh...the fairly random aspect of the campaign is interesting, though frustrating. Most of my battles go either of 2 ways.
1st:
O look a large group of bandits, attack! Proceed to watch them run aimlessly into my perfectly formed musket line and be slaughtered.
2nd:
A real battle...FINALLY. Proceed to get shot within the first 10 seconds of the fight from a seemingly impossible long and inaccurate, musket shot. Yet something that is a worryingly frequent occurrence. Result...either lose you're 70 men whilst lying in the dirt, or press alt+F4. I know which I choose every time!
The one shot kill muskets really do make this game a pain in the arse on the campaign early on.
In campaign mode, I think they want you to COMMAND your troops instead of LEAD them. You kind of have to hide behind your troops your first few battles. Though after I get some decent armor and a good horse it's pretty easy to take out stragglers since reloading their rifles takes so long.
