I got a 2nd copy of warband for my steam act, and whenever I try to log onto a server I get the character doesn't belong to you message, and am kicked.

That's because characters are bound to your cd-key.

That's why you're getting that message. Change your cd-key back to your old one and you're good to go.
If you can't, you can kiss your character goodbye.

The problem is even if you are number 1 in NA you are still only number 467 in EU or the worst in AUS(number 17)

Steam will reset your CD key to the Steam CD key every time you start the game from Steam.

You will need to get your old CD key and find "regedit" and "MountAndBladeWarbandKeys," and put the CD key in every time you start the game from Steam. Steam will still record play time and achievements, but you will be able to play on your other characters.
