Capturing spawnpoints in Strategus

I'm quite new to Strategus and have played/watched only a few battles so far. But most of the village defense battles end when the attacker captures the spawnpoint of the villagers. I understand that the purpose is to prevent a slaughtering of all ppl who respawn at that point.

But (in my opinion) its a bit disappointing and rather unrealistic. The attacker loses much less soldiers as if he would have fought with the whole army of the defender.

My suggestion is to switch the spawn point to some random position on the map to let the defender leave to option to regain its strength. Just like fresh reinforcement out of the woods ;)
The logic of war seems to be that if a belligerent can fight he will fight.

No, what ends up happening is they just form a beating circle around the spawn points. The only additional losses are from TKs.

If the villagers have been beaten so bad the invaders are in the middle of the town unopposed, I think the villagers would give up at that point.

So the run on Ruluns just some minutes before was a brilliant example of that. We (the villagers) were totally outnumbered at start 59 vs 29. Attackers ran directly to the village center, captured it and the "fight" was over after like 2 minutes. I dont know how much villagers respawn but it wont be many. If thats getting normal its not even worth the time trying to defend on the villagers side.

Edit: got the right numbers, screenshot in steam worked after all

So the run on Ruluns just some minutes before was a brilliant example of that. We (the villagers) were totally outnumbered at start 50+ vs 30+. Attackers ran directly to the village center, captured it and the "fight" was over after like 2 minutes. I dont know how much villagers respawn but it wont be many. If thats getting normal its not even worth the time trying to defend on the villagers side.

To be fair, you were "totally outnumbered."
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.

its only like that cuz the NPC villages and castles are fresh and only have a little gold to thier names. over time they generate gold and thus will be able to afford thier defenders (u and I) LOTS o good swag!

And in Clan vs CLan battles u can expect that this little smash and grab villages fiasco will not happen.

The only longer fights Ive seen or fight so far have been on the desert maps (well I have seen only a few). Might be a problem with the design of the maps too, like stated in the other thread (Spawns too close).

Pretty much defenders only should have a spawn and it should be 3 spawn points.  Doesn't make sense an attacker would retreat, its not like their village was taken.

Vienna is not a village, Japan is also not comparable to villagers.

Just stop.
