I would like my horse not to die after every wave in dtv

Can't you make it so only unmounted horses die ?

+1. Or, in terms of pseudocode in case a dev wants to do quick-fix:

Option 1 - "If team horse, death = 0; elseIf {do regular code}"
Option 2 - "If horse mounted, death = 0; elseIf {do regular code}"

Cavs speed up the round, as evident in Battle, and players would actually last to see the chadz army.

Geoff: If I were you, I'd change the thread title to something like "Bug Fix DTV Horses". Gets point across and filters it out from other randoms.

Wouldn't it be easier to just lower upkeep costs for arrows?

Well then you would have to talk to chadz about transferring your stuff over and I don't think he has time for that. Just keep playing with your Steam, I will have to do the same.

Problem solved.

@People complaining about throwing gimps

The only unbiased goal for balancing any game:  Every class and build has the same ability to top a scoreboard or win the round.

That's what every other game has for balancing. The only reason it doesn't apply here is because whiners get what they want; when they don't they start crying and trolling and then it happens anyway.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: HA Khergit Bow / Strong Bow
« on: May 06, 2011, 04:50:11 am »
It really depends on what kind of a HA you want to be. If you want to be a balance between speed and power, then a Strong Bow after you've heirloomed it a couple is better for you. If you don't really want that much power but wanna be able to spam arrows at your enemy, go with the Khergit. Good luck!

Well, this means I won't be experimenting as much anymore. This loses the "fun" factor in my book.

I still think bows deal too much damage, and they do several damage, i'd say more than before. But there is smt different, slots.. So people will use less shields. Its pretty easy to see that it means archers are buffed with this patch a lot. And in a mostly mele game its sometimes annoying to run between such a big amount of my old friendarchers that will run away if you get a little closer.

Yeh..no. The reason you think they do so much more damage is because of the armor change. When everybody has less health and a certain damage stays the same, you're obviously gonna see people dying faster.

Though you created the idea in sarcasm, I honestly think this would be a great idea.
I feel this is the reason that so many other games do it as well, so that everybody starts on the same level again.
W/e the new advantages/disadvantages are, players will have to find them again and by the time of the next patch, the OP'ed things would not have had too much of an effect on the community. Though, of course, heirloomed items would have to be respec'ed otherwise those who grinded would rage and that wouldn't be nice at all.

All in all, I feel you put the community first in every patch that you make (though at times, it could be the "wrong" community) and you deserve a nice pat on the back for your efforts.
I, as I bet the rest of the cRPG community as well, support your decisions and will continue to support you till the ends of time.

For us poor nuts who might need some of our old cookies (read; passwords and laziness), could you tell us what the crpg ones are named? Thank you, and thanks for an awesome update!

Second.

+1 for this. Many times I would go spectate on the first round of the map because of the completely random teams. Maybe not 20 seconds, but 10 seconds seeing as those downloading the map will only download it once anyway.

Aren't they already useless once dismounted? With 0 PS, you might as well attack the air, since that's the only thing that will even feel your swings.
So you're saying that you would rather have a low-tier weapon than a high-tier weapon with 0 PS?
And good horse archers do not let themselves become dismounted. Unless they are the last ones alive.
This is why people hate HA's so much. The mentality of hit and run. A HA who never becomes dismounted is one who runs away rather than staying near combat and fighting.

Right...cav is fine, don't change it. Back to the thread topic:

Does this mean that HA's will become useless after they fall? Especially with the 0 PS and all...

You're not supposed to change the gender. The gender is supposed to remain the same, you can change the look of the guy though.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Heirloom question
« on: April 25, 2011, 10:06:53 am »
...No, that's wrong. You need to have the skills required to use it before you heirloom it, otherwise it won't even appear as an eligible item to heirloom.
This is why you have to plan accordingly...for example:

You want to have some heirloomed items when you play as an archer? Play 2 generations as another build so that you can have triple-heirloomed arrows (bodkin recommended) the gen of your archer build.
