Yea, I was thinkin about it too few days ago :). Imo it's great idea. Noone like to wait 5-10 minutes when 100 friendly archers will be killed.

This.

Heres a good run down of what happened with the Japanese plants. Many of you should probably watch this.

To be honest I think the situation in Japan could have been far worse. The reactor designs should have been updated long ago though. 40 years is a long long time to wait for something catastrophic to happen.

Suggestions Corner / Re: How to survive as pure melee?
« on: March 13, 2011, 03:55:06 pm »
I play 2h and its not too hard to survive. It depends largely on the map. Let your team mates go first as fodder while you hide for a little while. Hopefully the shielders will smoke the archers out. You can then go in and cut things up.

A cheap shield is the best solution though. You still get shot in the foot every now and then, but its better than being shot in the face. I often just drop the shield once I've closed the distance.

Another option is to buy siege shields and use them to help your teams archers get into a good position to kill enemy archers, thus covering your back in the long term.

I want more maps that are a bit more cav friendly and not some roof camping archer clusterfuck. So yes, less villages.

Level 28

Strength   17
Agility   18

One Handed   1   [1 WPF cost]
Two Handed   147   [9 WPF cost]
Polearm   1   [1 WPF cost]
Archery   1   [1 WPF cost]
Crossbow   52   [2 WPF cost]
Throwing   1   [1 WPF cost]

Ironflesh   5
Power Strike   5
Shield   2
Athletics   6
Riding   1
Horse Archery   0
Power Draw   0
Power Throw   0
Weapon master *   6

The riding was going to be 3 but its now wasted points. Got a destrier prepatch and now I just dont use it at all. May just sell it. Everything else is going into agi. Less agi than my previous build but its fast enough. Can't complain my tempered claymore does 46 cut. Its like a miniature flamberge.

The points in crossbow were also more or less.... pointless.

Why not just do what every other game ever has done and have a zombie fighting mode.

Hey chadz in future can you put these patches up on Omploader instead. Those other free hosting services are largely shit, and I hate wait times.

nice in theory but I see people just grinding to three of the best sets and then switching them out, making it a tin can game again.

Well maybe the repair time should be more than triple wear time for these then :P

Oh well I tried... Well I didn't really, spur of the moment idea.

Suggestions Corner / Alternative repair system
« on: January 11, 2011, 09:12:11 pm »
OK reposting this from the taleworlds board because I keep forgetting this one exists. Anyway:

chadz, why not just put time limits on item usage instead if you don't want everyone running around in plate with flamberges. Then people don't need to worry about cash flow and can still buy new shiny things. Think of the time limits as 'down tme' while the item is being maintained, 'cept it doesn't cost anything. For heirlooming perhaps because the items are higher quality, the time you can use them for increases a bit and the repair time doesn't change.

So say you wear your plate for 5 rounds. After that its bound to be damaged so its sent off to be repaired for say 7 rounds. The time it takes should be proportional to item cost. In the meantime you have to wear something else. The mid tier items would be like 5/5 rounds or something and low tier 5/3 etc.

This would force people to go through a full rota of items and keep the mix up. People will still be able to have their plate/horse/flamberge and afford it because they won't be losing gold. It also favours grinders even less, since its time dependant it doesn't matter how stupid an amount of gold you have saved you don't use it to pay for repairs.

Thoughts?
