I know what you mean. In all the mess of battle it isn't easy to get a moment to see if you look good or not. lol like it matters. 
But I recall FFXI had a similar program where you could set your model and choose various armor types (the different graphics for every variety) in order to tell how you looked in a particular combination. It isn't the same use as your suggestion, but a program like that would help people know what sort of clothing looks proper on them. The FFXI program only showed the models combined with whatever armor/clothing selections you made... it did not show any sort of in-game item stats etc. So the program in question can be a vanilla M&B utility more then specific to cRPG.
And yes, I can't program either.
