EU has a bunch of greatswords (a surprising amount, not seeing many longswords/HBS), but NA does indead have a bunch of miaodao/ longsword+HBS users. The metagames are just different, and it's hard to understand how others feel without playing there. It may be a problem on CHN servers, but some were able to adapt here, and it's pretty much your word (To Ice and Fire) against theirs right now.

we have cavs,horse archer ,ranges and 2h infantries....

in former patch, we like MiaoDao , Danish Great Sword .Now it seems all of them use MiaoDao

got it...

there is an saying in CHN serve. normal player die in feinting,good player only die in arrows or siege attack...few fool die in swing and thrust..

change attack directions to make damage is the only way to do damage in CHN...we move close,swing and change directions to hit.

use stab in 10% times... in order to keep distance at  the very first time.

it is too hard to make damage..

In cRPG(not in Native),2h stab is much more slower than swing.

And you can swing at any distance and any degree,but you can only stab at long distance and in front of enimies,with slower speed.so it really easy to block

CHN serve play battle mode all the time,with 80 players mostly

we have a great number of  dueling master,so we liked to move together,but fight one by one,not use shield wall and spear square.

in that case, thrust is not important at all

thrust is too easy to block down...  most 2h player kill with swing...

I think I'm a  good player in CHN serve.

I play 2h weapons with 20 gens,and now I have 2.5KD while killed 12 thousand enimies.

thrust is really not important...it means we  choose 4 more speed,or 1 more cut and 2 more length...the answer is obviously..

we made MiaoDao one more speed and two more cut,it means we have X6 MiaoDao now...


and when i use them,i think MiaoDao is the best great sword ....it is too strong...

42cut 96speed, is the best of "great sword"
 
when we have new MiaoDao,we have no reason to choose the other sword.

for example. highland claymore  43cut but 92speed

while both things may be just as realistic/unrealistic as balanced weapons then game balance would make it a poor change.
BTW: Chinese servers got more players than EU_1 these days.  :D

May be we could make the Bar Mace slower when we allow it become balanced to swing??

Then it balanced the  realistic and game balance :D

As we see,in the new patch the  "unbalanced" has been removed from Studded Warclub.

I think it is reasonable and necessary  to remove the "unbalanced" from Bar Mace in the next patch,since it's sticked-like too.

Though I'm poor in english,I'm still a Chinese player who love cRPG ,and just hope to make the fine game better and better.
