Game Balance Discussion / Re: The current problems with cavalry (Poll)

to clarify:  ...buffed manueverable horses in cav vs cav fights...  as you now use the movement of the horse to guid the lance a lot more in cav duels.  thats why the arab will always be the most dangerous  opponent if the rider is of same skill as you are.

Okay, I see you're referring to the maneuverability of horses. I was more referring to the maneuverability of the lance. I don't mind less maneuverable horses ... I do mind less maneuverable lances.

if anything,  the lance angle nerf only buffed maneuver in cav vs cav fights,

Well that's certainly debatable. The new angle on lances limits the cavalry to only approach a target head-on, and not from an angle (an angle of himself, not the target ... that's obviously still possible). If anything, cav vs cav is now very easy to avoid and if you do decide to go against a cav it is more about a timed release of the lance (and therefore also more about lag) than anything.

and animations are all messed up, mighty long war axe with 2h animation. awlpike with 1h animation.
ouch

That's because all weapons seem to have swapped stats. So when you use what looks like a Long War Axe it's actually some obscure 2h weapon.

The range and speed is probably also very different.

Am I the only cav who can't even kill a lone archer? They wiggle around and make my horse into a pin cushion. Then I fall off and kill him, and pay a massive wod of cash at the end.

Haha! I laughted.

This is my round. Ride around for 2 minutes, get no kills. Fall off. Proceed to kill 8 people on foot because I got dropped 'behind enemy lines' so to say. Chop chop archers.

I support this idea.

I will rock the top of that list - If for nothing else, then for the sheer amusement of being number one in something!

Lancers aren't overpowered. The only reason why they rack up kills is because the deluded and unorganized mob is easy prey when you have the element of surprise.

Versus any organized mob (or even one person aware of his surroundings) Lancers are worth little.

In Strategus, Lancers will be borderline useless and way too expensive (Assuming that Strategus factions actually work together when they play).

Order of the Rose existed before Templars.

Also, I think Ninja is older than Templars.

I was the 3rd to join Templars, so I should (?) know  8-)

Well .... 4th if you count the Pope.

Game Balance Discussion / Re: Flamberge vs Great Long Bardiche

The GLB is unbalanced, which is why very few people use it.

If you have the slightest idea of how to feint and block, you should not use an unbalanced weapon.

Unbalance = huge disadvantage. Especially coupled with a slow weapon.

If I could chose between the two weapons I'd chose to use the flameberg, hands down. For reference I have 20 str and 154 in Polearm skill and use GLA, Elegant Poleaxe or Glaive, depending on my situation.
