I love reading stories about people's forts. I got this game on two separate occasions and couldn't get over the UI (see: fucking none) I am now content to read the stories and laugh my ass off. 

but seriously, if Toady gave half of a shit about making this game playable for people who don't want to smash their face on a desk for thirty hours in a row, just to get the extreme basics down... Everyone and their dog would know about, and love, it.

i didn't read through the entire thread, so if this has been said before i apologize.

I enjoyed this game a lot. My problem with it, is the exact same problem i had with Tribes: Ascend. (the other f2p by hi-rez) I immediately noticed that after you stopped leveling that you got jack shit for favor. did the math and it would take, on average, 30 hours to unlock a new god, winning every fucking game you play.

why the hell would I do that when i can play LOL at a leisurely pace and unlock a new champ every few days?

I fucking wouldn't.

Ever again.

so i'm trying to get the sweet-ass banner for my 2-her (TommyTheCat) but there's no option to apply. does anyone know if it's a time or level constraint. anybody know what's up with that? it's limited to 2 characters per profile as well right? i'd love to get my shielder in on it.

Gah! all of this new crap is driving me crazy! i run the game and it says i need to run it from the launcher. Only problem is i'm playing this on a friend's computer and he has a whole bunch of partitions set up. also i wasnt aware of this fact so i didnt pay attention to where the launcher was saved at or what the name was. all of the things that i can think of right now don't turn up anything. can anyone give me the name of the launcher?

edit: also, don't have a mic but the new vent info would be nice to have if someone could PM me that.

edit 2: found launcher but still need vent info.

this makes me so incredibly excited. the only other game that i have spent more than 300 hours on is mount & blade. i'm actually playing through BG2 right now. gnome illusionist almost to act 2 (doing every single quest possible of course).

also, in throne of bhaal, you can get two more heads for the flail of ages. something like 1d8 +5 +5 of random elemental damage. Minsc has never been so... Insanely awesome.

oh that's great. i played with kesh a lot, actually kesh was the guy who impressed me into joining the clan. hey guess what else? i was back and playing with some folks i used to play with a lot. and no one would even fucking acknowledge that i existed. even when i kicked them... oh how i kicked them.

Whistling doesn't work at all to warn someone in my experience. Next time you see the enemy coming, warn your archer friend by getting into his line of sight, and either chambering an attack, or raising your shield and facing the enemy. If your archer hasn't the brains to respond, bug out if you don't like the odds. You just can't help some people.
