General Off Topic / Re: Fighting in real life.

What you want it the SCA. Society for Creative Anachronism. http://www.sca.org/ It is world wide. They use rattan (a bamboo like wood) for weapons. There is a minimal amount of armor that is required as well as a training program that you have to pass in order to fight in any tournaments.

I it as close as you can get without killing anyone or being killed. I had my shoulder knocked down to my chest when my shoulder armor failed (my fault for not stopping combat). Be safe and serious or you'll get hurt.

I have to agree with this post. There seems to be way to much throwing in matches and it takes a lot away from melee. The damage does not make sense on some of the higher items as somebody already mentioned. Their melee version does half the damage (throwing lances). Whereas I think the knives and star are fine on damage, the upper items need damage to be reduced. Throwing should be a secondary focus...not a primary spam throwing build.
I think most people would agree on this apart from those that are using it.

Another thought though would be able to set multiple equipment sets and to be able to switch between them.

Overall, I think upkeep was a good thing. I'm just lazy and hate having to continually switch back and forth between armor sets.  :D I was just thinking if there was a way to reach the same result.

Hmm...I was thinking that what if instead of an upkeep, there was just a greater penalty to WPF for the weight of armor. I think we would see a lot less tincans and heavy armor archers which I believe was the goal of upkeep. What are other people's thoughts on this.
