With the current gold values, it costs 2.5 gold per troop per day. (2.5)

Assuming said person works in a moderate city: 40 Gold per hour
Plays CRPG with a 2X(the average) over 8 hours: 480 gold(approx) over the 8 hour play time.( 1g per tick, times 60, times 8)

That means you make per day: 1440 Gold per day.(40X24 +480)
Maximum army size attainable: 576(1440/2.5)

FIXED. That's an alright troop number

Assuming Clan has 100 memembers
Assume half play crpg per day: 480 x 50 =24,000
Assume 75 members of clan work: 40x24x75 = 72000
Total gold in one day: 96000
Maximum army size attainable: 38,400

That's actually pretty good.

There is one flaw in this calculation. Upkeep is only 1 per troop if you are in a fief, and if you aren't in a fief, you cant make the 40g per hour. Needs to be adjusted and given a when traveling as well as a when stationary. Your numbers are too big for travelling, and not quite big enough if just sitting around.

Fine, apparently all of you spend all your time looking behind you..... paranoid....

Following up on the head turning idea, yeah, make the person glow red when they touch the key, so that stupid spin stab wont work so easily.

P.S. To the person saying it is a realistic feature like turning your head: I don't know about you, but im not an owl, i can't spin my head all the way around.

Hey, to the devs: have you ever thought about disabling the pan around character view? The one done with the ~ key? Because it is annoying how people can see behind them and i don't see any reason to keep the feature. It would stop all of those 180 degree instakill stabs that are so annoying.

Input?

side note: has anyone tried a raid in strat yet? How they work? You get good spoils?

Banner balance is unfair. Saying join a clan is dumb, that's why it got downgraded.

Saying join a clan is dumb because:

It is bad for the player:

Some people don't want to play in a clan, especially a clan of people who take a game WAYYYY to seriously. Some people simply want to play the game without others getting a huge advantage because of who they associate with.

It is bad for the clans:

If people actually follow your logic, than clans will end up with tons of players who join just to reap the benefits, and care nothing about the clan. Then the application process and acceptance process become more difficult and a waste of time.

Spectators don't cause lag. What causes lag is the server having to receive data from 100s of PLAYING characters, convert that into movement/actions, and then calculate the physics, damage, position, etc. of everything in the game.

Spectators don't send info to server, they receive from it. The only possible way spectators affect lag is from the server having to send the info to the spectators, but this is unnoticeable. For instance, if you type something into chat, that sends extra info to hundreds of players. Does the game grind to a halt every time someone says "hey"? No, it doesn't. In fact, tons of people can talk all at once without any affect on performance. So how could sending info to spectators hurt? IT DOESN'T.

Your clanmate Erasmas took it too seriously too back then? I see what you did there, aslong the bug/exploit doesnt affect your clan, its all k, no probs, why ban?
You need to chill out. The whole strat is gonna be wiped several times before it ever matters anyway. Also, that equipment thing is hilarious. It should be fixed, but there shouldnt be a consequence. This is how bugs are found.

And when we eventually get sea warfare we could have continents divided by an ocean :D

Exactly.

Make 2 continents or a mountain range or something dividing the continent. On one side, battles take place ONLY at certain times, on the other side battles take place ONLY at the other times. Players can still move freely in between the continents. This way you could invade another continent, but you would be at a timezone disadvantage (homefield advantage).

It could be expanded further to 1 continent more rich in a certain resource and vice versa, that way it would pay to try to colonize or trade between areas, but the timezone risk would make it risky (think European settlers coming to NA).

Ping has nothing to do with it. Take archery for example. If you have high ping you have to shoot infront of the guy to actually shoot him. So what about the archers with high ping why dont we nerf something to let them play too? But what can we do? Hmm....Oh i know! Lets nerf Ath so even the archers with high ping will be able to shoot easily.... but whatever if you really think its fine as it is then its fine.
words can not describe how much of an idiot you are.

Made a STF archer, VERY GOOD. Class could use some refining, but here it is.

Attributes
Available points: 0
Strength   24
Agility   15
Weapon proficiency
Available points: 5
One Handed   1   1 point per wpf
Two Handed   1   1 point per wpf
Polearm   1   1 point per wpf
Archery   146   9 points per wpf
Crossbow   1   1 point per wpf
Throwing   1   1 point per wpf
Skills
Available points: 0
Iron Flesh   0   3 strength per level
Power Strike   6   3 strength per level
Shield   0   3 agility per level
Athletics   4   3 agility per level
Riding   0   3 agility per level
Horse Archery   0   6 agility per level
Power Draw   8   3 strength per level
Power Throw   0   3 strength per level
Weapon Master   5   3 agility per level

Prolly drop the PS and put it somewhere useful since you wont bring a melee. Use a Rus Bow and 2 sets of Bodkins. If you use low armor it is quite accurate and does very high damage. The shoot speed isn't awful either. Archers are not underpowered.

1h and shield has always been at a disadvantage to 2h. To all who think it is easy, change to 1h, i am a 1h and i think it is far easier to fight other 1h than 2h. Because with a 1 hander, if worst comes to worst, you can usually break their shield and then kill them.

I also think it is kinda unfair how they made the mauls and poleaxes and whatnot. A poleaxe can break a shield in like 3-4 hits, and then the 1h is at a all around disadvantage. And some of the maul builds are nearly impossible to beat without an agility 1h build, which does take a rediculous amount of hits to kill.

What i don't understand is why we need to include weapons in this game for 2h to beat "turtles." If someone is legitly "turtling," spam their shield, then when it breaks, kill them. Turtling gives no advantage to the turtle. I believe the problem lies in 2h becoming angry if it takes them more than 6 seconds to get a kill. Try being a 1h, where it is very difficult to feint, you do very low damage, your attacks are often blocked by unbreakable swords, while your shield deteriorates, etc. A 1h killing a 2h takes about as much time as a 2h killing a "turtling" 1h. So i don't understand why we have to have special weapons to increase the speed at which a 2h beats a 1h.

Also, 1h have a VERY hard time with cavalry, who i personally feel are a little too powerful, which might be because im a 1h, and cavalry literally HAVE to screw up for a 1h to beat a horse. A skilled horseman CANNOT lose to a 1h and shield, while they can easily lose to a 2h or polearm.

if someone were to transfer troops and gold to the village, would the village be able to use them/it in the upcoming fight?

Just think it would be hilarious if they got reinforced at the last second.

not necessarily.

A good commander is one that has people he knows and can trust.

A bad commander hires anyone that applies for 0 gold.

It's perfectly fine that the good commander has an advantage.

So what your saying is a good commander is one that hires only people from his clan + the best players. And a bad commander is one that lets any of the other people play....

None of this would have happened if "The Mercenaries" was actually a mercenary clan. If they fought for money instead of land they would have no land to lose, and no one would find it worth fighting them. Instead, "The Mercenaries" is just another normal kingdom like clan....

What do you guys expect when you aspire to control so much land?

Join SeaRaiders,Bandits or Pillagers .
if they have land then that somewhat defeats the purpose. And if they don't, it doesn't help with my recruitment problem.
