Just found out while looking into another post. Now that I did I guess unless the admins can transfer my char manually or change the CD key in my account I will have to start a new one...
Do I need to make a new account or just a new character in that account?

That's actually quite helpful, I changed my CD-Key because I got the game again on Steam for convenience.
Now I get kicked out of any server I try to join with a "this character is not yours" message. Is there a way to transfer it to the new CD-Key?
