Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Repair costs too high
« on: July 16, 2011, 02:35:42 am »
Repair costs are too high.

This punitive level of cost will prevent new players from playing.  The established players don't care.  They have a million gold or whatever for repairs.  They have nothing to spend it on.

Only the new players who don't have tens of thousands of gold and have no equipment need gold.  Yet the new system drains gold so fast you can't wear low level equipment and gain gold.  Who wants to play when you are not competitive?

I just started playing cRPG a couple of weeks ago.  I was trying to see what sort of character I liked to play.  The new 1 week time of "skip the fun" prevents that now.  The High repair costs prevent me from trying out equipment.  This patch will cause the game to stagnate.  There will be few new players.  You veterans  . . . enjoy your own company.

The "gold drain" or high repair costs keep new players from being competitive, by preventing them from acquiring better equipment and actually using it!  This patch with its high repair costs is a game killer.  It is not worth playing now.

To create a new character, simply create it from the in-game select character screen then join an official EU server such as EU_1 or EU_3 etc (any EU_X). After playing there for a few minutes, your character page for that character will be created, and you can play anywhere you want after that.
I created a new character.
Played for about 20 minutes on an EU server.  I quit the game and went to cRPG to see my new character.
It does not appear on the cRPG character selection screen! http://c-rpg.net/index.php
I have logged out and logged in.  I have been trying for a couple of hours now.

I'll check back tomorrow.
Is there some ban on creating new characters?

The new increase in upkeep costs makes it difficult to gain any money in game when playing naked with a decent bow and two slots of arrows; unless you are lucky enough to maintain a multiplier for most of the time.  Seems like I am at 1x multiplier about 75% of the time I play.
Changes to the way archery/arrows work/s makes archery half as effective.

Use your brains. The cooldown is to prevent people respeccing for every map, they actually have to play with their character a bit.

A one hour cooldown would prevent players from respeccing for every map.

1. Installing cRPG
1. Installing cRPG
Downloading full Version of Warband (1.130)
Firstly, go to your M&B files section. For people with steam, it is under:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\mountblade warband
In this there is a folder called Modules.

http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=2247
Unzip the folder to modules

Now you have a cRPG folder in your modules section with all the files you need.

2. Go to http://www.c-rpg.net/
On this site, at the bottom, there are two download links.
Click the first one, and it will download. When it has finished, extract all the downloaded files to the new folder you have (cRPG). When it asks you if you want to copy and replace files, click yes to all.

Now you have a cRPG folder in your modules section with all the files you need.
As of July 10, 2011 if you use Steam and do a fresh install, you must use the latest version of Warband (v 1.142)
The quoted instructions above do not work with this version.
I did a new install of Steam and Warband on my laptop.
I have downloaded the cRPG zip file, and extracted it to the Modules folder of the Warband install.

As to item 2 above; there is only one download link at the indicated place, not two.
I went to the download site, copied compatible_module_version = 1223
and pasted it at the beginning of the module.ini file and saved.  The instructions there merely say:
Quote
Don't do anything else, only edit Modules/cRPG/module.ini, and
ADD THIS LINE: compatible_module_version = 1223

When I start Warband with the cRPC module running, I get to the character selection screen but none of my characters are available to select.  I have played Warband with the cRPG module on my deskstop computer, this install in on my laptop.  It would seem logical that since I am playing on the same account, the same characters should be available.

Some clear step by step help would be greatly welcomed.

if you had warband on steam, why would you rebuy the game?
sounds like alot of user error

Wow, you are fail troll.  I never owned warband before, this is my first copy.  Doesn't mean I haven't played before.

Thank you for your help Okin, I will try your suggestions.

I have two sets of characters and I can't pick a main on the old version; basically the c-rpg website is treating the two sets of characters as one due to the fact that i've installed both Warbands in the same location.

General Discussion / I need a walkthrough on this
« on: June 20, 2011, 02:25:01 am »
I've recently moved to a new apartment, however I downloaded and played my new version of M&B along with c-rpg at the old apartment.  I also made a main character at this old apartment; then I went to my new apartment and everything seemed fine.

However, when I returned to my old apartment to try and make a main character there "using the old M&B steam account and game key (I never had a main there)" I found I could not make a main character.  "Odd" I thought because I figured that now that I have 2 completely different versions of the game I should be able to have 2 different main characters.  Did I make a mistake by making my new character and logging him into the C-rpg website from the old location?

What are the fixes for this?  Do I have to delete this character that I've now spent so much time on?  Your help is appreciated.

My first account with all of my characters on it now seems to be locked...I've followed the instructions and made a new character like the login screen describes.  However, when I go to login with the old masterwork weapon characters the site says it's invalid.

Help!

Post and be counted!

I have tried multiple different downloads, re-installs, ect.  Nothing fixes C-rpg so that I may play.

WTF?
