I can only side with the previous comments so far.
Optimization is the poorest I´ve seen in quite some time but whatever hope that's gonna get fixed soon. (I meet the minimum req easily /almost recommended)
Fps drops to like 10 fps back up to 100 repeatedly, laggy gameplay and clunky combat. it really IS an Early Access, however I was expecting some kind of "finished game" when it comes to performance...
Still alotta work ahead but who knows how long it's gonna take to get that fixed.
If you put all this aside which can be really hard sometimes, it's still kinda fun.

« on: October 29, 2014, 08:01:56 pm »Heard the game was meh at best, really slow early levels, and unless you are an alien fan you might not enjoy some levels which are just empty scenery levels. Also bad savepoints can make you redo a lot of content.So Gravoth, I have never really been an Alien fan but I have really had alot of fun at everything =)

Have finished the game now and would like to share my steam review with you guys, you might like the game.
NO SPOILERS BTW!
So after all the pre-reviews like "Sega and Creative Assembly have done this game, don`t buy it after the desaster of Colonial Marines and Total War Rome 2, they will do ♥♥♥♥ again" I was a bit afraid of buying it. Then I decided to pre-purchase this game around 1 week before release and I really have to say it was all worth it.
The graphics of this game are simply awesome, I thought "Can my PC even run this game on low settings due to the fact that my graphic card is just 1 above the minimum and ages beneath the recommended one, but my thoughts were definitely wrong. The game is optimized very well so that I was always able to run it on medium/high settings with shaders etc. turned on medium up to high without having a single lag. So being a little bit over the minimum should make you being able to run it pretty good.
Another important point is the story, of course.
So to be quite honest, I haven't watched the "Alien" movies but I was always kind of interested in space stuff, was a bit curious.
The game has had a lot of moments where I thought "Wow" because the story has a good background and is very very interesting even for people that have not seen the movies.
The gameplay has always been very very exciting and dramatic, the incredibly awesome sound and light effects just improved that. I have played the game with a controller and I have never had a single problem with shooting/running away precisely so don`t be afraid of using one.
So the game has a lot of very shocking and exciting moments and I definitely don`t regret that I have bought the game and I have enjoyed every second I played even if I didn't make some missions at the first or even after the 5th try but I have always been patient and thought "Give it another try, other people are able to do it so I can do it as well".
So all in all it is an awesome game that has alot of exciting and wow- moments with an awesome atmosphere and incredibly good light and sound effects and I can only RECOMMEND this game to anyone who's a bit into space stuff and/or has or hasn't watched the movies so almost everyone.

Levels, skill, looms, all made it extremely hard to start out pre-patch. Much more so than us vets ever had to endure.. Afaik those looms they get are OK, but not fantastic weapons and armors. And they can't select what they want either. They get 1 armor and 3 weapons, one 1h, one pole, and 1 2h. And I think they are untradable too.
So plenty of motivation to keep grinding. Or would you rather it would be that devs stole looms and levels from old players?

« on: September 28, 2014, 07:43:35 pm »Looks a bit easy to avoid the alien menace, seems like they dont have the OP sense of smell they have in the stories, which would make it damn impossible to not be busted if you are a few meters away from one, even if you made no sounds.Maybe it doesnt really "smell" you but if it has seen you/ heard you once it`ll be defending the surrounding area...
Still looks interestingly tense and tactical.
