I'm curious as to why people believe that science and religion are mutually exclusive?
Isaiah 55:10 New International Version (NIV):
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
Sounds like the water cycle to me.
Isaiah 40:22 (NIV):
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,
and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
Sounds to me like the Earth is round, roughly 2500 years before we a took a picture of it and confirmed it.
Romans 1:20 (NIV)
For since the creation of the world Gods invisible qualitieshis eternal power and divine naturehave been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Or as Voltaire put it:
The universe confounds me! I cannot imagine that such a clock can exist without there being a Clockmaker.
I guess what it boils down to is if God exists, and he made everything, that would make us accountable to him. A notion that many can't accept. Just my personal belief.
