cRPG Technical problems / Skill isn't High Enough to Use Horses after patch
« on: September 21, 2011, 03:41:15 am »
After the patch I can no longer ride my courser or desert horse as it says "my skill isn't high enough" - I have riding skill of 5 and can ride my Rouncey and Destrier no problem.
Bad thing is I am about to retire and I cannot Heirloom my Courser as planned if this bug isn't fixed

My Long Espada Eslavona Sword disappeared from the inventory, I still had it in game and when the screen flashed I could see it needed repair on the original page - but it was not available with the new script page.  After disabling the script, repairing the sword and re-enabling it, it showed back up in need of complete repair - in game it showed fixed.

General Discussion / Re: Repair poll

Its not that I am against repair,, it just seems kinda of unbalanced and a pain in the ass.  After I posted this I hit 3 5x streaks in a few hours and made enough to repair +20k.  But about 10 hours of play prior to that, I was never getting more then a x3 for a round or 2 and it killed me trying to wear around 25-30k of equipment.

As it is I just think the repair skill is unbalanced - I mean what is put in the place to counter it? Grinding or getting lucky with 5x - there should be a real counter balance like "Spoils of War" 250 + bonus for the whole team for winning the round - or map or anything to help balance it

Perhaps a skill?

Anything would be better then the current counter balance, which is basically just grinding.

If that was from this morning - then its the new map siege - where attackers have to go up stairs to wall or around and up to 2 big ass doors.. inside over some barricades - more barricades, then a 2nd smaller door.. then the pole with no flag.. it was broken but winnable a few days back.. now its just broken..

I was there and can attest this did happen as op stated it did.

For the past 2 days my repair bill has been outrageous.  I don't even wear or use nice items - my best is a long sword espana - some heavy throwing axes and huscarl shield.  But regardless of what happens in the battle, I always have about half my items break.  Regardless of win, lose, live, or die.

I would have to estimate that 1 in 20 rounds I have no repair bills.

At this rate I have to grind away naked for about 3 hours in order to play for about 30 minutes of battle in my mid gear(less than 30k total) - to me grinding is the most god awful pain in the ass thing you can put in a game, but here it is - you have to grind or get 5x to use your mid-level gear.

Perhaps this is because I am using a thrower first time?  I pick up my axes all the time and re-throw them, perhaps that is counting against my total equip used?

All I know is that the repair thing is totally overpowered now and it is ruining the game -

At least put in a REPAIR skill or something...

Scene Editing / Re: Maps in Development

Thanks for input - I am not sure if it was necessary but I put the whole map in a boundary box -  Also lightened the flora up by about 25% to increase fps, removed all particle effects except 2 - and found that I had about 30 objects floating under the map where I had elevated but didn't remove props.

I have noticed like you said Kung Fu, that on large maps people tend to focus entirely on the chokepoint/s  - not much of a worry

I am gonna tweak it a tad more and then submit it for approval.

Thanks Again :D

Scene Editing / Re: Maps in Development - Two Forts
« on: February 11, 2011, 03:42:12 am »
This is my map I am currently working on.  Its called Two Forts.
(click to show/hide)
The map is rather large - 42 seconds from both spawns to center bridge - so I am probably going to trim it down some before submitting it.

Let me know what you think, its basically 2 forts divided by one river and 3 crossings/bridges - rope bridge in thick forest, stone bridge in clear area(center), and a rocky clearing in a middle of thick bushes.

Thanks for input - hopefully have it submitted this weekend or so..

I think there should be an experience hit for TK's over 1 per round or say 3 per game (this of course would have to vary by game time/mode etc.)
And a cooldown period where the tker is forced into spec mode for one round after tk (preferably locked on his victim) so they can 'see' how the game should be played.
