General Discussion / Re: Lorne_ATS... Admin Abuse?

I play on the NA servers from the UAE and successfully couch and block people (admittedly my blocking needs serious work). Please do not complain about ping.

And I used to play on the Eu servers all the time from the US. I'll complain about ping all I want. It does affect game play.  And blocking a good player is a complete crap shoot at best as you would know.

-- you should increase the cost of all horses including palfrey and especially heavy armored horses (which were always stupid, destrier should be the best horse, armored horses are more fantasy than anything in c-rpg mod)
- GIVE US KILTS (medium armor would be best)

Because in med. times there were obviously more kilts than armored horses  I hope you realize kilts were 16th century dresscode. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilt

I like the Fallen Ones server. It does have alot of unpopular (from ATS server perspective) people yet it tends to be slightly less crowded. But I haven't seen that much retarded behavior. So with my crappy nowhere near Chicago ping the less people playing the better. Someone tell chadz we don't need more NA servers, but rather an NA server not in F'ing Chicago.  Not everyone in America likes "da bears" or thinks that Ditka could beat beat god in football (SNL).

On a side note I don't care for  the ATS maps anyways and more importantly that they switch maps every 3-4 rounds and half the time I have to D/L the map and miss the first round completely. I can understand why you do it, but I still don't like it.

You can kill people over range in 99,9% of all other multiplayer 1st/3rd person games. Why do you have to choose a medieval battle simulation (more or less  ) for fighting over range?

Medieval battle is about meele, period. Please don't come up with Crecy or Agincourt, as those are special cases.

Its also about heavy cavalry but that hasn't stopped the whiners from getting them nerfed  :?

General Discussion / Re: the game doesn't feel the same

I don't think this patch is bad but, I kind of like it but I really don't care so much if we win or lose like I did before. If I don't like the map I spend 10-15 minutes doing other things until its done and I get xp/gold regardless ...

Heck I did that back in July when I had 150 ping at best. Before I got into decent gear I quickly realized that I was cannon fodder at best and would log on and run into the cluster of dead bodies and make a half hearted attempt to stab someone with a butchering knife. After having my head taken off by a scythe  or some stupid merc  I would go back to reading a book or watching TV. And I used to be in the top ten  The patch changed nothing in that regard  On a side note, once I got good armor (lamellar vest) I actually started to play but peasant stage was hopeless with high ping and sucky stats.

And if the game doesn't feel the same with your old character (I had the same problem) just start a new one. As everyone has noted grinding isn't really all that hard anymore. Took a lvl 6 character and hit 23 in a single day and still had time to go to the beach that day. The only thing that you can't do that you could do before was play every round in plate on an armored horse, but do you really miss that? I only did that on EU becuase of sucky ping. On the NA server I happily ran around in heraldric mail on a saranid horse.

Can't speak for everyone else, but I could have sworn that the stats have been played with a few times. At least when I bought mine the choice was obvious, I actually prefered the German one for looks. Not that I'll ever use a weapon that expensive anymore

Game Balance Discussion / Re: Why Cavalry Isn't Overpowered

In reality, spear was also proper cavalry counter. I know you don't get it, so i suggest you to read more books about medieval battles or not use (as in reality) argument.

Which battle might that be?
