I just now ran into this thread,  really awesome textures Boss and a great idea. Il try it out when I get home from work!

I hope you keep updating. This is the coolest c-rpg addition iv seen in a long while and if this gets completed Its not far off for it to be included in the main pack for sure.

Give thomek more admin power.

lol give this guy more cookies :D

--

Thomek has from what iv seen always been good at moderating and to pull him for some hothead like Zlisch seems like selling the community short when we need active affirmative moderators.

You actually have to take all the crap that comes with the position for pretty much nothing and still makes sure we can enjoy the game.  Id never want to do it myself, to much stress.

Anyhow, I hope you don't get discouraged, I think most people like the way you moderate Thomek.

@Leesin,
Heck that happens Leesin, when you go into the menu to kick someone you cant keep track if someone is going to jump down, you just have to be quick when its Thomek hehe. Hardly enough to boot a moderator for thou or no one would be left to moderate a server :P. Id rader this mishap happen once in awhile then waiting for ages on someone who is stalling the game for real because all the moderators where booted for crap reasons.

Damn RipperX, you missed Knights versus Samurai and the creation of the c-rpg ultimate troll regiment the 104th. It was an Mount and musket exclusive excursion by various guilds under one banner that actually did very good until we all got banned . But seriously welcome back, always fun to watch your youtube videos.

p.s. tell your friend to work faster on war of the roses :D

I had a lot of fun, thx for setting the event up!
I hope to join more of them in the future. :)

General Discussion / Re: Once in a Blue Moon and Various Nostalgia
« on: September 27, 2011, 01:15:33 am »
I would hardly say that everyone knew everyone lol, whilst there were less players on at one time than now, the community was still relatively large for such a new mod and there are a good amount of people who say they played since cRPG was first released like I did, that don't know me and I don't know them ( by name ), simply because I probably played when they weren't playing and vice versa.

Still, do have nostalgic memories, some bad, i.e when the only gold and xp rewards you got were for getting a kill, leading to 99% of players jumping into a fight spamming to get the kill and killing their team mates in the process . But some funny ones, remembering Jesus pissing everyone off, and also monkey with their skills.

My first memories of Strategus - it was fun until everyone realised archer spam was the best way and then most sieges were just 3 hours of being shot by arrows.

Aww I miss Jesus, he could always pull a whole team together (or half most times) to actual team play hehe, this was before clans formed and I remember him as one of the better field commanders.

Who can forget the pike formations and shield walls of the old days ^^

the reverse bump was implemented by mistake and therefor removed quickly.  well,  i see we disagree.

Ah I see, indeed was a nice change when it was in hehe and yes I guess we do disagree and that´s fine, still you do seem to acknowledge there being a problem with the current mechanics or you would not propose a click block to jump out of the way function. Its a pretty cool idea I must say, duno how it would play out in game, still I would not be advert to try something like that out.

strength stacker´s would be clumsier thou hehe, giving some looove to agility back :)  *NIN-JA!!!!* sorry Tourettes, I cant help myself.

i absolutely disagree.  a bump slash is the only way a 1h cav can kill an aware defensive shielder.  also I dont see this as exploiting,  but as a technique,  just like lolstabbing and whatnot

You already do a lot more damage knocking people down with horses now, adding a slash you cant defend from after getting bumpt makes its cheap. There must have been a reason they added the bump for bump. Was the outcry so vocal they reverted it? I dont know, I just cant say if someone has real skills or if they are pushing the lol button when using that "tactic" as you so elegantly say.

There was talk of horses taking damage from bumps (dont quote me on this),anyway if they go that route then I would be ready to change my opinion. That would give the cav a at least some deterrent from running there horses into metal shields, plated knights and whatnot. Horses are made of flesh and bones too and they have feelings damit lol.

whatever the devs deam possible.  ofc a sidejump or sth would be coul but a whole new animation.  shit is this wold kill 1h cav horsbumpslashes -.-

If 1h cav have to crutch on horsbumpslash to get kills something is seriously not tuned right. People are never going to have respect for players using that kind of game mechanics. I know there is fantastic cav players in c-rpg that dont need to bumpslash someone to kill them, op features like bumpslash makes them look cheap and not skilled.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Build for throwing lances
« on: September 09, 2011, 10:20:09 am »
I´m using 21/17 right now. (21/18 at lvl 31)
If you can handle no shield this might be something for you.

7 powerstrike
5 athletics (6 at lvl 31)
7 powerthrow
5 weapon master (6 at lvl 31)

polearm 126 (+ at lvl 31)
Throwing 92 (+ at lvl 31)

I can only use light armor to not get hit with the wp reduction, (making it impossible to pick up the ammo and nurfing dmg ets).

Game Balance Discussion / Re: Throwing lance melee
« on: August 26, 2011, 11:00:30 am »
i would love to give spears & lances a try, but you pretty much have to be naked and pure thrower to even use them.  the PT & WPF requirements for throwing are over the top.  not everyone is a born archer, it takes some skill and significant investment...but just about everyone knows how to throw an object and it doesnt take much training to be mildly proficient at it.  Throwing should be a natural hybrid/secondary skillset, not useless.

i really dont understand what they did to horse rearing in the latest patches.  I stab horses going full speed at me with short & regular spear and they take dmg but continue to ride right over me.  any long pointy stick should rear a horse
