It doesn't take long, actually. You can unlock the whole arsenal for a knight in a few days if you just grind FFA. The goal is not to unlock weapons, my goal is to get better, test my skill against others, be at the top of leaderboards, have fun killing other players in brutal fashion, playing with friends etc. If you need the constant carrot in front of your nose that crpg provides, maybe you're playing for the wrong reasons.

Either way, I don't know what people are talking about with "lag". I play on a (admittedly good) laptop on high settings with a 15 mb connection and I get great frames and pings on 64 player battles.

The game is awesome. Works fine on my laptop on high settings.

My only complaint is that just one dude I know plays it, so when he's not on it's kinda lonely. You don't have someone to laugh with at all the insane shit that goes on. There are few things more rewarding in gaming like coming to help someone and chopping off the guys leg and then your friend chops off his head before the body hits the ground.

And that gurgle   8-)

If they aren't wiping their dicks off on my blankets, I don't care what they are doing or who they marry.

Could someone explain this to me, why are there suddenly more archers?

Actually, he can lance/couch...using the double sided lance. Sheathable

Joe thanks you for this!

indians dont use lances. indians get in your face and knife or club you to death

indians also die to spanish using plate armor & metal weapons

Someone doesn't know the people Joe comes from, the Comanche destroyed the Spanish and were the most powerful tribe in the Americas. Joe's people use the lance and the bow.

Joe will look into this. Maybe he will use the spear.

I have an Alt, Comanche Joe. Comanche Joe is a Comanche, he likes to ride his horse and shoot arrows into people who aren't Comanches. In his spare time he likes using his lance to spear his foes who are not riding horses. Joe also likes to eat buffalo.

The conundrum for Joe is that he doesn't know how to craft a build to let him do all the things he likes to do. He wants to shoot arrows and he wants to kill people with his lance. Can you make me a build that allows Joe to do all the things he likes to do?

The buffalo thing will sort itself out, so don't worry about that.

When I was on today a guy who was -1 had third place.

What Lech said is correct, at least in the current version we or I have in mind. Yes, it's not perfect, but there is simply no perfect solution. This at least allows peasants to be somewhat helpful and feel rewarded by trying to help the old ones.

What about support characters like archers, throwers, horse archers etc who will be left out of the whole proximity aspect of scoring?

Peasants will be unable to level up because by not gaining any XP from kills, they will be perpetually stuck in peasant mode, which of course, will "kill the mod"
How?

There is no change than the previous system, but actual contributions are reflected in the score.

I stated that this whole premise as it pertains to a potential new modifier system is flawed....so yes, the new system would be flawed.

The current system is fine if you ask me, I feel a scoreboard reflection is good enough.

Suggestions Corner / Proximity based scoring should not be used.

There is no need for it. There should only be points awarded based on kills, damage done to players and enemy horses. I should not be awarded points for being near an enemy who is killed by a teammate, it makes no sense. It's a fundamentally flawed decision if its only intent in to promote players clumping together. I still see the same behaviors of players, but now being passive in a group is rewarded. Also, the poor bastard who decides to undulge in horse archery is even more fucked (disclaimer: I don't play one).

I think what most players wanted was their work recognized, support characters for the damage done, even if they didn't get the kill and the guys who get that good feeling when they fucking destroy a horse and see the rider careen to his soon to be death rewarded for their actions.

Proximity based awards seemed shoehorned in, for no real purpose than whatever new multiplier that may be envisioned.

I'm shit at this game, average at best...so I stand to gain the most from proximity points, but I think they are a bad idea. I want to be awarded
"points" for the damage I do and the kills I get...I don't want arbitrarily awarded points that have no reflection on what I contributed to the fight.

I've been TKed and Twed more in melee then from other archers shooting into melee tbh, mostly due to swing happy maniacs who try and "help" me.

I think that is more a result of there being a significantly larger majority of melee players.

In regards to TW etc, I think that there is nothing more dangerous than an enemy peasant running in the midst of you and your teammates. I've gotten to the point where I see one of those flaming torch bearing enemy peasants who run as fast as a cockroach through us I just flee.

I hate mayonnaise, yogurt and sour cream...but what I hate more than that is ranch dressing.

This probably means I subconsciously hate white people due to the common color of all those products, and being white myself, means I am a self hater.

A true hater.
