Make sure you delete all CRPG launchers including CRPG exe from your desktop or wherever you launch CRPG from. Then delete the CRPG module. Then download the latest CRPG launcher. Run CRPG launcher. Play
I had the same issue, and kept going in circle before finally realizing that I still had CRPG launcher shortcut on my desktop which was shorcuted to an old launcher exe even after I installed the new one
