This should be something that players can do themselves. You should be able to convert strategus gold into cRPG gold. Like maybe 4 strat gold to 1 crpg gold.
This would encourage more people from cRPG to sign up for strat battles who don't actually play in the strategus overview. Also then factions in strat could pay their members in strat gold (like a weekly or monthly wage) and those players could transfer to their cRPG chars.
I'd never recommend or suggest allowing people to convert cRPG gold into strat gold though.
Just one look on battles page and mercs know where they can earn some gold. Many single players or small faction have problems with roster and it can be solution
