my poor compy can't handle DX9, and WSE2 won't let me play on DX7.

The new armor textures crash you out if you are not using WSE2.

why it's there and not here i don't know.  i'm going to try this now.  if i don't come back, it works.

EDIT:
as far as i know it works, but i need to be able to play in directx7.
i'm done for the night, and i hope to god they didn't just patch me out of the game.

Are you running Vista?  I know some other people have had troubles with saving maps on Vista.  If so, try running Warband as an admin when you edit and see if that helps.  Otherwise, I'm not sure how to help you, but check the Taleworlds forum.

i had this exact problem and may have fixed it by turning off the UAC box.  yes, turn it all the way off...i believe what is happening is that windows is screening the permanent change to the file when you close M&B, (i believe this is the moment your changes become permanent, as i was reloading maps i had saved w/o closing M&B and getting them back , but when i closed M&B and started again, they were wiped clean) the UAC box instead of notifying you, (no matter what settings it is on concerning notifying you of changes) it just doesn't, stops it, and pats itself on the back.

arite espu here comes the bandaid....

i think i got dealt some shit in this situation but i'm sucking it up because i have to recognize the scale of what you've done here.  [also on the case by case basis my actual physical evidence is notably less than most peoples]  anyways you're definitely setting [or just reminding a lot of people who have forgotten] a solid example of the need for reporting glitches.

most people are going to remember this whole incident and not dare exploit glitches [even if "everybody is doing it"], and even if some are still brave enough, all those people who see it and recall this massive smack down will definitely bother to report it.

so yeah in summary, i guess i was pretty pissed about my specific situation, but being able to see the largescale now, any collateral damage, [which three days isn't even so much considering] is worth the end result.

sorry if i blew up a little.

this is bullshit.

if taking part in mutual teamkilling that nobody involved is against were a banworthy offense, i could understand.  i haven't denied this, but i've explained that i was NOT INTENTIONALLY EXPLOITING THIS GLITCH, and that when i found out what was actually happening, I left.

honestly i think you've done very poor job of handling this situation if you're banning people for not knowing what's going on.  i've been playing this game for two days and i get banned for three?  if i didn't have friends on this mod, [the mod i bought this game to play on] i'd ask for my thirty dollars back right now.

so i've been playing this mod for all of one day and i get home from work and see that i am banned.
just looking around the forum it's obviously the DTV glitch thing.
somebody says "hey let's take off our clothes and kill each other, we get gold"  people start killing me at the beginning of each round, i kill them back, i see the little 'you got xxx gold' message but my gold isn't going up in the corner, i think, 'this guy is just an idiot, nothing is happening, well i guess i'll just enjoy some mutual TKs'  then i left.  later i think i may have proved my innocence when i tried joining another DTV, and, seeing that nobody was actually defending the virgin, but rather having a blood orgy, i left.

so yeah i don't know.  it would be nice to be able to play again.  i'm really not interested in exploits just eviscerating dudes in a large-scale setting.
