It's pretty hard to rear an armored horse with such a short pole arm.  Good luck on a lancer, especially.  I do think Hoplite rearing is a little ridiculous, though.

Well, QS wins in terms of length, speed, and cost. And it has knockdown. And yet, it has felt weird to me when using it in terms of getting a feel for my reach with it.

Personally, I like the spear better for its easy pierce damage.


However, I hate fighting against either of them. So spammy, but I hate fighting the spear more-so if that tells you anything. (Fear the spear).
i beilive it has polestagger the spear since its a spear and other spears have this tho i dunno i thought polestagger was all removed

I feel like the spear made 1 slot kinda fucks with da balance of other 1 slot polearms and many people agree with this ive been very adamant about this since the spear def outclasses the military fork and i would say the short spear, there used to be a niche where the military fork fit in pretty well aswell as the short spear. The rear length is also ridiculous i dont think a bec should be able to rear a horse if anything the rear length should go universal to spears or maybe bring it down to the military fork/spear but short spear seems a little odd. Now i can use a spear and pike witch is pretty ridiculous i am being a whinny little my old friend about this but i dont see balance with the spear oneslotted also witch the reduced stats it pars up with other poles worse compared to the q staff or even the short spear.

If it's a 1v1 duel, I would take the quarterstaff. It is balanced in all attack directions so feinting and directional combos are harder for the enemy to block. It also has knockdown, which can mean gg in a 1v1 fight.

In a group battle I'd take the spear. You can easily chip away with side and overhead swings, but as soon as your ally forces the enemy to block anything but down, you can stab for serious damage.

I remember that I wanted to loom a shortened spear back then. Even with +0 you could get ridiculous polestun combos. Before I had the chance to loom one polestun was removed. RIP shortened spear.

Also, how about that boar spear?

Get a blunt or pierce weapon as offhand or through secondary modes or simply just out maneuver them. Its not hard to fight plate really..
lol never said i had trouble fighting them xD i just think that it should be harder to obtain plate!

An issue with that is 9 strength + 3IF having access to medium+ armor and 12str access to most armor, if you want to call it one. Would be harder to design around it and doubt difficulty can be tweaked to work for both skill and attribute points.
i mean you would have to tweak things out acorse but something like this and raising the req across the board

(just a basic rusty idea i have no idea what can actually be implemented into crpg)An idea i have is that the str req should be increased for armor and IF should play a role many people including san have talked about this and how IF should help. Iron flesh should count as "str" if plate armour is 24 str req and you have 15 str every point of iron flesh would count as 2 "str" therefore for an agi build to obtain  plate you would have to invest into ironflesh 5 points of IF. I think this is a needed change so all these noobs in plate may be punished for wearing plate. There would have to be adjustments tho this is just a simple idea not a final plan or something tho this could possible work if all amour req was increased

Whoops, yeah, outside of the head-hitting part. Left swing would deal more when it hits the head, then (I personally look down when I fight, so my left swings hit the body  :oops:). For some reason, overheads just deal more damage in general, with additional bonus damage to the head.

I can't really speak for Tydeus. I just shrugged and said go for it if he thinks he can improve it since I liked his last right swing change.

Edit: Clarified a few points better.
