Suggestions Corner / Subjectively Better Vegetation Texture Pack
« on: October 12, 2017, 03:06:08 am »
Alright, this is going to be a pretty short thread that is to the point. I like playing Warband without too many modifications, I'm a vanilla kind of guy. However, the one thing that bugged me was the overall tone of the game, it looked like a Disney film. However, when I downloaded mods like Darker Textures or Realistic Colors, they changed too much making the game look strange. So I took the textures I liked out of that mod and simply created this mod. I did not make any of the textures, I simply would like to share this simple mod with you guys.

It is a small mod, it only changes leaves, plants, and grass textures. Here are some screenshots of what it looks like that I quickly threw together. It's of one of my maps so it's not meant to show off the mod specifically.

Before downloading make sure to backup your Textures folder if you want to revert back to your old textures.

Just re-downloaded crpg because I had an itch. Saw there were no NA servers, was confused, read beginning of thread and had hope. Continued to read the thread and halfway through I was horrified at the mod being dead forever. However, I kept reading and saw that the mod is still dead but a live in spirit! Overall, same scene that's been going on for a few years! Good to see.

Thanks for always being there to support the mod James!

General Off Topic / Re: Being a shitty student in college
« on: May 13, 2017, 06:18:14 am »
Dude, don't give up in college or else you will give up for the rest of your life being lazy. Obviously if you hate EE then switch. Do something you're good at, NOT something you think you'll love. Odds are the things you are good at will be the things you love most. SO if you're bad at EE change it, look at what subjects, hobbies, or other interests you were good at, and follow those! Maybe college isn't for you, college debt can kill you and it's not a magic piece of paper that will guarantee money and success in life.

However, that's not an excuse right now, you can think about changing or quitting when the semester is over! You have to finish the things you start in life or else you will be a lazy, unconfident individual.

Take it from me, I worked hard to get into Nursing school and everyone was surprised how quick I got in. However, once I was in I just got so lazy and barely studied, read, and even did all my work last minute. They kicked me out of the program 8 weeks after getting into it. Ever had to tell literally everyone you might remotely know how you failed at something whenever they ask you about how school is going? Now I'm on a downward spiral because I have lost my confidence and have become super lazy. I'm building myself back up, and this spring semester has been killer. It's ok to quit, but only once the work has been done.

Yep that's my rambling, hopefully it made sense!

I'm in community college and working, and I just got done with a 40 hour week. My job pays well for someone like me with no experience in the field and it's enjoyable. However, I'm trying to find a way to live without having to punch in five days a week slaving most of my life away. I'm not opposed to working, I wouldn't mind having to work a job 2 or 3 days out of the week to pay for the stuff I'd want for in life.

Jobs are a prison, I am okay with work. Any suggestions (besides get on welfare or bum off of other people). The only thing I can think of is to become a mountain man, but even that cost a lot of money to get started and maintain!

Thank you for posting something relevant to Bannerlord. Instead of this shit posting that was going on earlier. :P

Hmmmm... game looks good, I wonder how many years it took them to make that drawing. Oh yeah, what's up with his waist and legs, just looks a bit weird!

Suggestions Corner / Re: cRPG update and new ideas. Need feedback.

Here's an idea I'm just throwing out there...

  • Reset everyone's gen and levels (Take a screenshot guys if you want to look at your old stats and items, seriously)
  • Let old players keep their unloomed items and 500k gold at maximum
  • Compensate people who lost their LOOMED items with say ~9 LP's (Preferably on a case by case basis)
  • Keep xp and gold system the way it is, but let the multiplier go to x10 if possible
  • Revert to old system of level 30-33 being the norm (IMO these super high level builds of level 35 and beyond ensure skilled players to stomp on noobs even more)
  • Make grinding the last level to retirement less tedious by dividng up the last few levels (24-30) more evenly
  • Make free respec'ing available to hero characters as well, or at least decrease free respec time from 7 days to 3 for non-hero characters
  • Give new players an "inheritance" of 50k gold and possibly one loompoint after creating an account?
  • Please, update the website images for items, I could try to help with that if need be!

This way we sort of start fresh, but old players still have an edge due to their commitment to the mod. Obviously, resetting the game is controversial and heartbreaking to many players. However, it doesn't have to be a complete wipe, and guys take a screenshot if you really love staring at the same thing on your pc. Also, I say give old players around 9 lp's so they won't rage but they'll have something to grind for again, and their won't be as many mw's floating around. It will also allow old players to have MW body armor, gloves, and a weapon, or whatever combination they desire right off the bat.

It took me many years of on and off play, contributing to the mod, getting a couple gifts, and winning a contest to finally get 3 MW items. So I would be sad to see my progress go but right now the mod is a ghost town and needs something to spark some interest.

Just my $0.02.

Off topic but up vote me so I can see what the king forum looks like! Maybe it's not as dead as the normal forum ;_;

I think they'll try to make Trump follow a certain role and that role would be to make good name for Republican party. If they manage to do that, they (Republicans) can expect to put Jeb as their next candidate. Which is their ultimate goal but first they needed to win against Dems and show America they can do the same if not better job than their candidates.

But as I told before, electing Dems for 12 years straight is something that never happened in USA and could be seen very negatively. Democracy is kinda fake thing, but you still need to make it seem real. By allowing one party to pull the strings for too long you're creating same impression dictators for life leave on people. If would be the same as Putins party leading Russia for now and ever. Whole point of having two equally strong parties is to make them switch places frequently to create an illusion of democracy working.

If she were Republican candidate, Hillary would win easily imho.

I try not to be too biased in my opinions so I'll consider what you're saying. Sounds pretty reasonable to me that it is actually just an illusion, seems a little far fetched that people are actually pulling the strings to do that though, imo.

Well Hillary's ideas aren't compatible with the Republican party so that would never happen, even hypothetically. I think if Bernie Sanders was running instead of Hillary, Trump would've lost.

In the end I'm glad to see that tensions are cooling a bit between some people in the US, can't say anything about other parts of the world since they constantly bash Trump still. I even read some liberal articles about giving Trump a chance and that we shouldn't want Trump to be a bad president and fail. I gained some respect for the other side now. I like Trump, especially in his victory speech (even Obama's speech was good after Trump won), I just don't agree with his environmental issues and the name calling. I don't mind if he deports illegals, tightens up borders, and other things. I don't like how he discriminates against ALL Hispanics, Muslims, and Blacks. I'm tired of the media, probably written by a white person, about how racist I am and how oppressed non-whites are in this country. I believe that minorities CAN have it hard in this country, but so can whites, and I'm tired of being blamed for it.

People rail against political correctness often, or bitch about people being too sensitive, but its like, do people just think anything and everything they say should elicit a positive or neutral reaction from an individual or group? That you can just deliberately say mean-spirited and intentionally disrespectful shit and not face any criticism?

Who's the one limiting language here?

(click to show/hide)

True, good point.

I see your point of view, Leshma. I feel like my vote really didn't matter that much in the end. Sure I contributed to Trump's popular vote, but the electoral vote is really what matters. I live in Virginia, and they always vote Democrat, they almost went Republican this election, not really though...

Oh, I don't think it's gonna be the end of the world as we know it (though I would have said the same about einstein in 1933. I always assume that people aren't as stupid and mad as they really are).  It just makes me sad. I mean, Clinton probably wasn't the right choice, I don't know, but Trump? Really?

The only positive thing about all this mess is that now we (the Poles) don't look as stupid as a few months ago. Brits and Americans beat us hands down.

I don't think anyone even really knew that the Poles were being stupid, they're like Canada to me. Do they even exist? I voted for Trump. If Trump doesn't do a good job there is always an election in four years. This whole election was kinda meh to me, but what really shot out to me was the massive liberal media bias.
