Or why not choose from among your alts in the Troops menu?

The main char can have access to INT/CHA based skills like trade (better prices at store) and Leadership. Leadership increases the number of alts you can have. The alts cannot generate, access INT/CHA based skills, or directly buy items. Essentially gold is pooled amongst all your chars (The property of your main char) and items are bought for your alts by your main char (Your main char buys an awlpike, now they and their alt-minions can equip awlpikes). The alts can possibly start and remain at a highish level (like 25).

Basically, it would be like building your own faction in Native multiplayer/having a mini-clan all to yourself. The less you devote your main char to INT/CHA based skills, the stronger they personally will be physically, BUT the tradeoff is less alts with more expensive equipment.

It is still not realistic. Even if you swing a light 5 pound weight like a sword, try bringing it back up and doing an entire full swing immediately after, you'll see its actually pretty challenging and any more weight could actually do damage to you.

Maybe the speed of the item in the item shop should be its true speed, and the higher your wpf the closer to the true speed you are.

Where recovery is the time between the swings to pick the sword pack up and basically reload, and current recovery displays how fast it is at your current wpf.

Or, get rid of spd entirely and make it strength - weight = spd; spd + weight + dam type = damage   :wink:

Sucks, but I'd imagine this would be hard irl too. Plate armor could protect you, but it's too weak against ranged currently.

Er... don't drop your poleaxe? Take heavier armor, athletics, and use shielders as protection like it was done in the olden days  :wink:

You realize that this nerfs even pure Polearm melee users? Making those weapons unsheathable makes it impossible to also equip a shield on your back.

So you want a PURE MELEE USER to be unable to shield himself against ranged?

Its not impossible, just less useful. My main char is a pure polearm user and I would gladly take the nerf for the sake of the game in general.

I mainly play polearms (poleaxe, awlpike, etc) and I would like to see them flagged with "unsheathable".

I'd rather see my build "hurt" than play in some unrealistic cartoony world where polearms are magnetically attached to your back or shoved so far up your ass that they disappear.

2H swords should NOT be flagged BECAUSE that is why swords were useful historically. They are light and easy to sheath/draw.

Some 2H weapons like the Great maul should also be unsheathable as it is inconceivable how you could store such a cumbersome weapon on your person

Why aren't splinted greaves and splinted leather greaves over mail switched stat-wise? By the name and texture it seems like splinted leather greaves over mail would be more protective/heavier. Kinda nit-picky, but it's always annoyed me.

All, but the shortest polearms should be 0 slot unsheathable. The sheathable ones should be 1 slot.

0 slot because you are not storing them on your body, but holding them. I can sheath all my 4/4 equipment and fight with fist, so this argument is at least consistent.

You could make the argument that other weapons should be 0 slot if you  never sheath them, in which case I wouldn't mind 1 slot for unsheathable.
