Too lazy to read it again.

I'm going through the map rotation to spread out the heavily open maps. At the start it seems to be 5 in a row.

There, i believe, 200 to go through, so give me time.

Sure, currently the Official servers tend to sport more open field and sprawled out village maps. These are good in their own right and serve their purpose to prepare people for Strat battles. But they also tend to favor cavalry and are typically more useful for large population battles as they are very wide spread and do not offer many choke points.

I agree...but I don't think shutting out cav on the server is the right move. Though I'd like to be different than officials, I feel like we already are in many ways.

A. Our map rotation sports a mixture of close quarters and open field. Sometimes both at once.
B. Our rotation is dynamic...what it is one week might change the next.
C. As new and old maps are brought forward, maps will cycled in and out of rotation.

I feel as though you only played for a limited period as the server opened. I highly suggest you play more frequently. though some maps pop up more often than others, but that doesn't mean the rotation started over.

Was a blast playing yesterday, good player skill level made it positively challenging and the classic maps... well I've been asking for them to be included in the Official servers for a long time already.

I agree with Reinhardt that the Community servers should try to diversify themselves from the Official ones with a few guidelines when it comes to map selection and size, in order to accommodate for players of different play styles. This way there is no direct competition between servers and they can peacefully coexist.

If you sit through the entire rotation, there should be enough maps to satisfy your diverse needs. If you can be more specific in what you mean by guidelines other than size I'll take a closer look.

Like I said we'll be refining our rotation as the week continues.

They're back.

Over the next couple days we will be refining the map rotation/admin list/ server rules. 1/7th of the Admins are ATS at the moment, not including myself. *I'll do my best to keep that figure low*

There are two servers up, NA Community 1, NA Community 2. Both are battle at the moment, however the 2nd one will change as Arrowaine see's fit. *As far as i know he'll be using it at a siege/tournament server/clan practice*.

Number one will always remain battle.


ATS Map pack is uploaded on both.

UNTIL A LIST OF RULES ARE DEFINED OR UPDATED THEY WILL BE THE SAME AS OFFICIAL. ANY SHENANIGANS WHILE THE SERVERS ARE BEING TESTED WILL RESULT IN SWIFT PUNISHMENT. WE DO PATROL LOGS AND THE FORUMS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Couple things worthy of note:

For starters, the Community Servers went down for two reasons:

First, because the official servers split an already declining community. With the promise of better admins, moderation, and experience there was no reason to keep any others going.

Second,

The officials were paid for by one individual, the community were paid by...well the community. We can't and never will be able to compete with single payment providers. However, now the officials are paid by donations, so if people are going to be donating, might as well get something worth while.

Yes the Community servers should be back online tonight or tomorrow.

No there will not be the same admins as before or exactly the same as official.

Yes the maps will be brought back(and refined through further testing)

Occitan is the primary reason for their return, so thank them of all people.

No I will not be involved like I was before. Which means no ipod app developments, no website statistics, and no further community expansions. I feel as though that ship sailed when there was a cry for official servers only for the same people to cry for the community servers to be brought back. A little irony that i get to poke at. But I digest....

There will be two servers as of right now...both 80 man. One will be battle, the other will be siege/occitan tournament zone.

We are testing a new server provider so no one is certain how the performance will go. The box will be located in Chicago to provide an equal disadvantage for most players spread across North America. Sorry texas, go to hell.

Let it be known that The Free Companies have declared war upon ATS. This is beyond the conflict of known members of the Empire and Republic.

Oh joy, I cannot restrain myself in anticipation of the clan I am part of being mass banned for little to no reason!

Hey now...you were unbanned in less than 2 hours after we found out who leaked the password. Were you not there when 500 NA players were mass banned by chadz when there was an exploit on capture the flag...ya chew on that for a while.

Sometimes you gotta fight fire with fire. At least my extreme measures worked.
