I sometimes see large clans on one team, and they will lose most if not all rounds.
A huge clan on the same team isn't as intimidating as most of the top players in the same team, which I think is more common and deciding.

I think there is just too much chaos involved, for a 10 man clan team to dominate the battlefield. But it sure is fun to watch or be apart of.

Edit:

Unless we are talking about 10 horse archers on the same team :D

Wouldn't it be awesome if some hybrid system was possible? Get best of both worlds?

We'd use the current system to get a flat rate of xp and gold with the multiplier (i really like the multiplier system, it's exiting!), but there'd also be a small bonus for being near the action.

Basicly combine the old and the new system into one.


I think a problem is that if you do that, even if it's just a little, then certain people that have just as important roles will be getting the short end of the deal.
Like archers or people taking out cavalry.
Maybe if archers got rewarded just for hitting someone, and not necessarily killing. But maybe that's just making things complicated C:

Dont you guys notice that when the round ends with 50 seconds into the next minute for the tick, you dont get a tick ten seconds after the start of the enxt round, but a full minute later?  Also, the time loading maps, being in spectator, time between rounds, etc.  all add up and dont count toward the ticks, and any time on duel server doesn't count, the time loading up the game and finding a server, you can have 177 hours to get there.

That's a good point. A fix is in order!

No problem with grimm, but how will he act with admin powah?! HOW?! That is the question. People will change how they act, they have to when they accept a position of responsibility.

Yeah but I get a good impression when I see him play. I never see him boasting when he does well. Or yelling at people when he gets tked. So I guess he would deal with it well!

I voted no, but I've been hit when I saw the block animation was there.
I just assume I got hit because I blocked too late. So I don't think there's any faulty mechanics.

I'm sure that 2handers are responsible for most of the kills. But is this game balanced by kills? If it is, then yes there is a huge imbalance.
I don't think this game is balanced by kills. I think it is intentional that one class will have a easier time killing then another. I think the problem is that the game is poor at rewarding you for doing your job. Like your job is insignificant when it actually can be deciding in winning a round.

Medics in team fortress 2 don't get a lot if any kills but without a medic your team will have a hard time winning.
Machine gunners (deployable light machine guns) in a world war 2 multiplayer shooting game will probably be responsible for most of the kills on your team. But if everyone played machine gunners they would lose without infantry backing them up. If your team consisted only of machine gunners you'd all get blown up by grenades.

It would be the same if one team were only 2 handed users. They would lose to a better balanced team. Too much of one single class and your team becomes vulnerable. Except for maybe horse archers.

So maybe crpg could do a better job of rewarding you for doing your job. Instead of kill scores, maybe it should be point scores

Permanent death may sound cool but in my opinion, permanent death will never work in a online game where you have to invest.

In a perfect world it might work. But games crash, people lag and things happen. Just look in mount and blade. People get upset and complain about dying for the most trivial reasons. My wireless mouse was out of battery, my button got jammed, omg that was no where near me, I blocked!!
Dying because of those reasons can be frustrating. Permanently dying and losing everything you worked for, because of something you couldn't control.. Well why would you continue playing?

The only game I can think of that had permanent death was the jedi in star wars galaxies. And it was a disaster

Throwing axes can allready crush shields very reliably. The tradeoff is realistic arc and a less unrealistic reload speed. Throwing lances have no tradeoff. Just randomly go in a mob or be alone. The only thing threatening you is arrows and bolts. You are immune to cav (1 lance in the horse, then in the guy, or directly in the guy). In a mob you just go near the enemy and randomly throw. As one hit will likely be one kill...

I stated my opinion on needed changes about throwing in another thread, but the short version is :

Make it dependant on running direction. Throwing a steel weapon without running forward in a straight line for 2meters is just meant to fail utterly.

But throwing axes also kills people without a shield. Why would you waste your axes on destroying a shield?

But was it a revenge TK? I don't think revenge TKS should be allowed. It makes a bad environment but maybe it warrants some leniency.
