Oh no I'm not opposed to guns, sorry for being vague about it.  I am however ambient about them.

Just so it doesn't feel like I was picking on you, Reinhardt's solution to go play somewhere makes about as much sense as people who complain country music and other genres do not belong in the video game Rock Band just because the title says Rock Band.  Or to hit closer to home, people who complain about range complaining the title of the game is called Mount and Blade and therefore should have absolutely nothing to do with anything else.

Anyway seeing as how I do not have an imagination I cannot tell if guns would be good or bad in crpg simply because I've never seen guns in crpg therefore I have no idea if it will affect the game positively or negatively.

I'll only play when I'm enjoying it.

Good attitude.  I find it odd when people get frustrated by 'the grind' yet keep playing.  Seems unhealthy.

I hate my fucking brute, he sucks -_-

How come you are level 15? :O

It takes ages to lvl now :(

I used to play it every day maybe 2 years ago?  My brutes recently started seeing action again Sunday but I doubt I'll remember to keep playing them, as you said it takes waaay too long to level.

You can't have one and not the other

Sure you can.  But that's not our call usually.

I just remembered the other crossbowman that does pretty well when using crossbows - Wiegraf.

Be sure to brag if you stomp someone higher level than you!

Done.

My OP brute didn't even need to use the whip, the crushthrough weapon of mybrute.  Goodness it's been awhile, I didn't know my characters still existed either.

Two names I haven't seen mentioned are King Itchy and Leman Russ.  I agree with Kronic that Harn has never been much of a threat as far as I'm aware via xbow - melee is a different story but that's irrelevant to the topic.  I've yet to be shot at all by Weebo but he does has a reputation with an xbow so I'll put it down to sheer luck on my part.

I remember a third decent yet-unnamed crossbowman whilst philosophizing on the toilet a couple of minutes ago but the name escapes me at the moment.

I build ladder towers 3 ladders high and do kamikaze falling attacks on enemy archers.  I actually have quite a high success rate on hitting someone, I've just never killed anyone doing it.  Speed bonus is bullshit.  That or the character I do it on is a one-hander without a shield and only 6 power strike.

Don't listen about "constant block speed" - it might be constant if you just block and don't attack. It might be. But more agility will let you ready your block in time after your own swing. I do not know if its Athletics, WP or pure Agility, but i am 100% blocking faster with all of the above.

My (currently) 29 agi pacifist with 94 wpf in melee blocks at exactly the same speed as when I make a new character.  Faster weapons only feel faster at blocking after attacking because, well, it is.  The attack animation finishes faster thus you have a faster window for recovery.

Everkistus hit the Long ladder server limit and had to begin using small wooden ladders...

ever done that?

This looks to be bigger than that actually.  I've built ladder towers that went to the short ladder limits and they weren't as tall as this one.  I'm judging based on how long it takes in that video to fall.

Rhade and ManofWar going at it would be a dream come true.  That other guy who's name starts with a V would also be nice to watch.

Or google your character/forum name and post the first real person photo that pops up as your sexy mug...

Taking your word for it.  Feels nice to finally have something to read again while waiting for everyone else to finish their next books.

The last series I read while I still had money to buy books was The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe.  Didn't understand it the first time, made about as much sense the second time, and to this day I still cannot understand what all the hubbub was about.  Granted I don't claim to be very intelligent so maybe it was just beyond me.  If you like books that allegedly has a lot of depth to it but spells absolutely none of it out for the reader, read that.

A series I did enjoy immensely and hasn't been mentioned yet is The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.  It's a fantasy/hard-boiled detective fiction mix, but I feel the best way to describe it is with a picture:

Granted, while he doesn't actually ride around downtown Chicago on a zombified Tyrannosaurus Rex all the time, it does measure adequately what one can expect in terms of awesomeness levels.

And, when is the HBO series going to air? And how the hell can they air it when his series is likely still 10-12 years from being finished? He says he has at least 2 more books for the series, and this last one took ALMOST SIX DAMN YEARS TO COMPLETE.

April 17th.
