General Off Topic / Looking for talent

Good day to you all, I thought I would try searching in here for any talented 3D artists, concept artists or coders to join our MMORPG project.
My name is Lee and I am the art director for this project, it is my job to lead the teams 3D artists, concept artists and the enviroment artists.
In my team alone I have 9 modelers, 4 concept artists, 1 texture artists and 7 enviromental artists. Thats just my department, we currently have around 30 active people working on this project as a whole.
We are looking to build the team to around 40+ actives which would be a respectful size.

Any interested people should know now that this is a non paid job as of now, but once we get our investor we will be rewarding those who have shown dedication to the project. With the ex European Director of EA games as our project manager it won't be too hard to get ourselves an investor within the next year.
We are using the Heroengine which is currently being used by Bioware for their new upcoming MMO.


Forsaken Studios is a game development studio that is determined to bring back the passion and depth of classic games of yesterday in robust and innovative ways. We are about to unveil our first project, a MMO powered by the Hero Engine that we believe will set a new standard for the sandbox genre.

Was thinking of this exact topic and of making the models for them myself, but then I found this godly topic!

I would love to see these in game, if I wasn't so swamped with work I would model and texture them for you myself.

Just to add I had made 20k ish gold, but because it hadn't been updated it was basicly only charging me repairs and hadn't give me any gold, thus losing 52k in gold.  (loss of gold + repairs)

Spent all day today on a defend the village server, got myself around 900 kills.
Watched my gold go up and was keeping my eye on the XP as I needed 1 mill to reach 31.

Anyway finally reached level 31 and waited another round before I left to go make the kids some dinner and quickly checked the website so I could retire.
When I checked I was 1 million EXP missing and had lost 52000 gold. (This was an hour ago) So anyway back from making the kids their dinner and it hasn't updated. I tried connecting to other servers to see if it was just the website but no, its everything.

Can anyone help me with this?

Im using the Calradia and also metal sound mods, works great and is quality.

I wish I could get the realistic landscapes mod working with it though.

Anyone else got any mods I can add that make things look better and feel more realistic? I am a sucker for mods :)

Okay spent the last few hours playing, and my main gripe is retards constantly abusing the kick function for leaching. Being in the middle of a fight and then you get some prick trying to kick you for leaching, then I have to press M to stop it while trying to fight is stupid sorry.

And has archery all of a sudden had an aimbot installed? People just don't seem to miss now.

Anyway apart from that a good patch.

Sounds interesting, I always thought if someone implemented the generative landscape algorithms of Minecraft, the intuitive skill based combat system of Mount and Blade, the physics based contraption making of Little Big Planet, with the organised MMO community of EVE Online, we would have the game of all games.

Yeah we can all dream of that perfect MMO :)

Thankfully I am the lead artist and my priority is to have a combat system like M&B with a few more combat moves etc.

Our aim is to have everything with the fluff being a very important factor. If we have all the fluff and a good combat and crafting system it will appeal to all play styles, which in my opinion is what other MMO companies succeed to lack in.

Anyway I won't derail this thread with that. :)

You want to hope not, as the reason we quit Darkfall was because Darkfall wasn't the sandbox they claimed it to be. Don't get me wrong it's a good game, I still play it here and there but it's not the best sort of game for an idea such as Wessex.
Now Mortal Online if that was better it would be a good game for us, when they add more features and such, apart from that there isn't any "perfect sandbox" games out there for us to build a realistic kingdom.
Now M&B warband and the cRPG mod, theres a great combination there for some fun PVP and community building. Now combine that with Strategus and I can see some fun times a head. :)

Thankfully the developer team I am part of are creating that perfect game with true sandbox features, but thats way off yet from release. :)

50 members over 3 games, we were 300 ish at the launch of Darkfall but most were idiots :)

We are around 10+ for this game with a few more wanting to try it out.

Thanks for the comments also, we always try to use teamwork, it compensates for how noobie we are lol.
