Realism Discussion / Re: Whistle range and Horse owner till death
« on: March 10, 2014, 04:20:55 pm »
Boo. Boo to to this. Boo to Wendy Testaburger. And boo to your proposals.

1. Calradian horses are fickle animals. Once the rider dismounts, they are returned to their blissful state of nature, and show no loyalty to former masters.
2. Horses have a heightened sense of hearing which allows them to avoid predators. This is why they are able to detect the high-pitched frequency caused by QQF'ing from across the map.

BTW I have a proposal, horses at the edge of the map shouldn't automatically fade into oblivion. Once I saw a horse fade directly into a wall at the edge of the map. It is frustrating, especially for someone whose entire build is based upon freeing horses of their riders and riding them. Humans can't do this, why should horses?

1. I am pretty sure you can make it have ownership. Almost positive I played a mod with it. I whistled and the one horse that I ride into battle with came back to me and not the entire map of horses.
2. Maybe.

No I'd be against binding it to the owner until the owner (or the horse's) death.

I would think a whistle range would be smart though. I can't whistle for shit but if someone whistles right next to me, I can hear them. They try whistling a football field's length away from me.. I'm not hearing them at all. So a range for the whistle might be good but not sure that's possible.

I would be happy with the reduced whistle range as well. The only reason I had the other idea is because half the time I get off my horse for 5 seconds some asshole kills it for no reason. And it would be good to be able to report them for being buttheads.

Realism Discussion / Whistle range and Horse owner till death

Just started using this class and I noticed the flaw of the whistle range. I get off my horse, someone whistles from across the map and my horse runs too them.
(Trying out my own type of class I dismount to shoot.)

Thinking you could some how bind the horse to owner until death. Making it unresponsive to the whistle except to the horses master.
(This could also cause reports to happen when people attack your horse for no reason after dismount in a crowed. Making them think before attacking your horsey.)

What do you guys think? And please no troll responses on how cav is OP,this is a logistics idea.

Well you can use every weapon in the game with 0 weapon mastery and 20 strength. So the only point in 8 wm in my opinion is for specializing in ranged, not melee. Also for maybe less repairs unless that is a myth. Sure you may get a nice damage bonus in 100 wpf,but it is not necessary since skilled players can beat you or hold their own with none. I decided 21/21 is the best end game build in the game. Any class can use this build and it is nicely balanced.  :P

Suggestions Corner / Quiver drop button!
« on: March 02, 2014, 09:03:12 am »
I stand by my lower the arrow weight post. In the mean time I wonder if there is a way you guys can make a button specifically for dropping quivers and not the bow. I know it seems pointless but it would be convenient when under attack and have no time to drop and pick up just your bow. If there is a way to do that already let me know, let all of us know!

It would be just a cool crpg only feature for us to be happy about like nudge.

I would tell you to add crouching but its only use would be to bow to me in game.

The wooden stick is all bark and no bite.

He is right.

Fighting against a wooden stick +1, my short sword was stunlocked. I was so shocked, I took that thing to the face and died.

This weapon has great potential to be the predecessor of the hammer.

I used this beautiful weapon at +3 for over 70 million of my XP, a finer weapon you could not ask for, especially with the heirloom mod.
Give this man a medal.

The main idea is you could buff the weight a little. Maybe my .2-.5,and the damage by about 2ish. That was archers can use this weapon as an alternate to the hammer with longer reach less damage. For the 0 slot. Or make the weight of .1 per rank make the base damage 16 and it would be 19 total damage.

Wear whatever you will always be slow. Just don't go over a tunic or a guy in plate can run you down.

there lies your problem, most melee have 6-7 athletics these days, you only have 6, meaning that they can hun you down, if you were playing 18/24, then you would easily be able to run away. But you chose power over manoeuvrability. So don't complain about not being able to run away when your build hinders it.

I don't care if i have 2 athletics it doesn't change my point. I am talking about the weight of the arrows not myself, and you can't tell me what to do you are not my dad.

The thing is, every PD gives you 14% damage, so you having a 24/18 build, as opposed to my 18/24, that means you gain 28% damage over me. Twenty-eight percent. Thats equivalent to 3 and a half points of powerstrike. On top of this though, you're also gaining an increase to your effective projectile speed, which increases your accuracy. Of course, that's offset by the wpf per pd penalty, but nonetheless still exists.

Also, I've been playing with 27/15 lately. My first map played with the build, with 70 people playing on na1, I went 16:4(after tking twice on the first round ending with 0:0:1 score).

Not everyone is as good as you. You can't judge balance because you are a good player, factor in a regular player. How many archers do you see when you play on NA 1 go 16k 4d? Or is it 16:4 kd ratio? Melee get shot they bitch. It is us Archer's turn now.
