Have you tried turning off "Load Textures On Demand"?  The spawn stutter can be really bad with that turned on.  Either way having more video ram should help.

I have a Heavy Rouncey I made during the heirloom theft.  At the time, horses were stupidly expensive and it was thought that the heirloom value also increased the upkeep costs.  So I decided a looming a Rouncey would ensure I could afford to ride.

But a Heavy Rouncey is outclassed by a Heavy Courser in every category except price, and it shows when engaging other cav.  I've surprised some archers with how many arrows my little pony will take, but with a faster horse I might have dodged them in the first place.

I wouldn't worry about being able to afford riding every round because there are some maps you will not want to be on a horse.

Thanks for the feedback!

No problems with the bridge middles, but I will thoroughly test them again.

A ruined tower on the island has crossed my mind.  Would go well with the ruined bridges.

I'll tweak the fort some, maybe try a different set because the "small_wall" for this castle's texture is not small at all, or even shaped right, so I cannot easily add cover to the stairs and walkways.

Invisible walls aren't usually an issue unless you're cavalry and get drawn away from the central area.  But since I hope for this to be a cav friendly map it's a concern to me.

I've used the smooth tool often, but I do see some places that need it, especially the shorelines.

Thranduil, I like your Sky Castle, reminds me of the PC game Stratosphere.  :)

Close combat gold/xp leads to the mob mentality and discourages flanking.  Good riddance to it.

I would like to see a bonus for kills or hits, perhaps only if you kill someone of a higher level.

My WIP: River Fort

A pseudo-symmetrical map for battle mode.  Currently takes the peasant ~28 seconds to get to the dummy in the fort from spawning by the carts.  The perimeter fence is a barrier (I hate invisible walls).

This is my first attempt, so please point out any obvious defects or hate.  I still need to add the flags, but not sure where to put them.  I'm also not sure if I like the fort design.

How can I test with equipment?

It appears that both file uploads and external image links are disabled.  Until at least one of those is turned on then we cannot have any images on the wiki.

Should we just copy Moschers cRPG Guide into the wiki for the beginner's guide?

I think the character sheet in game can be inaccurate about skill points.  The website will still show your real stats.

Actually, the Bec de Corbin can be used on horseback, and it can horse slash. You can test this in Single Player.

As for the original question, I like using the Pike both at close range and at its maximum reach. It's also extremely effective for supporting teammates.

Ah, I see that is reflected in the store too.  Is that new with the patch, or a longstanding error in that list of weapon abilities?

Mr_Moe, you can see all of the different attacks a weapon has at http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,132836.0.html . Most of the other lances have thrust and overswing, the great lance is very specialized.
