In object mode, switch from placing scene props to placing entry points.  Place two entry points, one for each team, and point them in the general direction you want players to face when they spawn.  Then select each point and on the left there are two fields, variable 1 and variable 2.  For the first entry point make variable 1 "0" and for the second entry point make variable 1 "32".  This makes them entry points 0 and 32 which are the two entry points the game uses to spawn the teams in Battle.  For deathmatch you need to place entry points 0-63 all over the map.

When placing entry points for Battle mode, allways test your map with 200+ bots if you can to test the spawns. Only placing two of them forces the game to make players spawn in lines of 20 (or something like that). When a line is complete, the game make other people spawn in a line roughly one step backwards and so on when the current line is finished, so you must make sure there's enough space behind your spawn entry points (this is a common problem with custom maps).

I think I would be good if like in Native, bows were good at lower range than xbows.

But for that to be balanced, xbows should require a skill investment, but they still don't.

It would be nice if we could vote/rank the maps in game somehow. They have this on certain mods for other games like TF2. It would help gauge the map, and if one consistently is getting really low ratings, they could remove it. I'm not really sure how viable it is to make a in-game poll for that, but it would help gather more peoples opinion rather than just the loud ones on the forums

That is a good idea !

Maybe we should create topics in the scene editing subforum to rate each map. Not enough, but should give some minimal feedback.

No, damn you, don't try to cheat the upkeep system again! It was implemented for a reason.

Oh, having a good reason doesn't mean it's good to come up with a fail "solution". Like "oh damn we have too much unemployed people !" "okay, let's build a big landmark to create some jobs"...

Upkeep is short-sighted and brutal, the prototype of the easily designed, fast implemented and half-assed solution.

People seem to think 10% of cavalry in each team is too much.

While 33% seems logical, we have roughly 3 troop types.

My 2cents is to lower light horse costs a bit, a very slight nerf (or nerf cavalry weapons) on them. And make heavy horses a little les expensive. Actually they are banned from the game. Yes you can afford a plated charger for x rounds with y gold, but whatever ?

Yes, I'm also having seemingly more issues with pikes recently. Hitting a teammate standing next and just a little bit forward of me. Missing "due to range" when it should have recorded a hit.

I suggest to people saying "why don't we delete it", why don't we delete athletics or weapon master ?

Totally in favor of this, 3 hp per IF still seems low compared to one point for each str. It's a skill afterall and should be as useful as power strike for example.

Depends... morality suggests a player in heavy armor and xbow shouldn't hide while others in his team are actually fighting. Hiding when the round ends is already forbidden.

First "fix" : active auto-exposure

a LOT more visibility

then try HDR

and finally increase gamma.

But the best fix is still removing night make it happen less.



And if those options make your computer have trouble... Well I don't know how is it supposed to make the game work in the first place. I really don't see how low comps should have less visibilty when it's night time.

Well... Honestly I'd prefer playing without a shield on my melee char. But since any arrow will likely take 1/2 of my health, that's not really an option. Don't argue about "evading"... Arrows are too fast to be seen and avoided individually, and someone can allways hit you because you are sticking with teammates. Beside that, any decent archer will likely headshot a 2h zigzagging in front of him. And finally, shield is the equipment of choice if you want to fight against multiple opponents (except ranged classes who will always kill a pure melee if they are two or more focusing).


oh my god :)

Not going to say whether or not shield is for noobs..but the history arguments never have a place in a game that cares about balance.

And fighting against two or more opponents without a shield is not hard, ive seen plenty of people doing it, and ive done it myself (Holding down RMB is not something i would refer to as fighting btw).


Holding RMB ? How do you kill people, exactly ?
