General Discussion / Chamber blocks only

At the moment I am playing using the Kyhber knife with no shield and little armor.  The Kyhber knife's inability to block means I can only chamber block.  has anyone ever tried anything similar?

General Discussion / Shield + Spear Penalty

Is there or is there not a speed and damage penalty when equiping a polearm and a shield?

I have heard both stated hear on the forums.

EDIT: Also, personally testing I can not see the speed penalty, simply through playing it *feels* like there is a damage penalty, but what do I know

General Discussion / 2nd, 3rd, and 4rth slots

For those of you who have issues with "all them damn archers and xbow'ers", "easy mode sword&boarders", "OP throwers" and above all those "#!%@# hybrids", what do you place in your extra slots?

Do many of you play with a single melee weapon and three empty inventory slots?  Is the resulting low encumbrance worth the lack of throwing weapons, a shield, or a missile weapon?  Two handed beserkers with no shields only invite more and more players to play as the shield, archer, xbow, and throwing classes above.  By using a ranged weapon yourself you contribute to "supressing" the enemy, reducing that spam which is so dangerous to a melee only class. 

Thoughts?

Suggestions Corner / Javalin/Jarid/Throwing Spears alt. mode should be 1H weapons

The title pretty much says it all.  The alternate fire modes of all throwing weapons should be one handed weapons.  The polearm animation for the javalin not only looks awkward, but makes it less than useless in melee.

What do you guys think of this:

lvl 16
generation 1,
3 kills
61 deaths
70 Polearm
50 throwing
50 one handed weapons

That is my stats.... bet none of you can beat that for suckiness.  I use a 1 handed war axe, a "spear", throwing daggers, and a broken kite shield.  I wear light strange armor with peasant hood and light leather boots.

Oh by the way, I am new to cRPG and Warband, but I am an old M&B vet.  fyi on Warband I normally get more kills than deaths lol

Laugh all you want, but maybe put add some constructive criticism at the bottom?
