Beginner's Help and Guides / PT and Throwing Accuracy?
« on: September 10, 2012, 09:26:24 am »
It's driving me nuts.

Before the big throw nerf about a year ago, each point of power throw above the weapon difficulty significantly increased accuracy.

Is this still the case? Is there any positive correlation between PT and accuracy or is it just wpf?

Thanks in advance.

Just FYI, ill be finishing the voice pack in the next few weeks (the quick menu) and will be happy to do any other sounds that need doing.

I did actually do them in the first place, but apparently the file was corrupted and then I took a year off Crpg to pay for rent and whatnot.

I need no payment for this.

Sup y'all

I have just secured funding for a Record Label I am starting.

I am looking for a kick-ass web designer. I will also be needing an integrated smartphone app, as well as website maintenance/troubleshooting.

I have a budget for both development and maintenance. I am looking for a serious and dedicated web designer, and the remuneration I am offering will reflect that. No timewasters please.

Please reply with a portfolio, and email a resume to [email protected]. we can then discuss requirements and budget.

I have a basic placeholder website that can be found at www.12tonerecords.com.

Best

I haven't played for more than an hour or two in nearly a year.

I have no idea what the context to your statement is.

Lordly tin cans in strat?

So!

Having had real life completely take over my life, I still get all sentimental and nostalgic when I think of Crpg. I miss you guys and the awesome blood-drenched shenanigans we got up to.

Couple questions:

1. Cav still useless at 1v1ing infantry?

2. Strat fun again?

3. Y'all still shouting at each other with my voicepack?

Most importantly, though

4. HOW THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS?

Starting up a record label and about to go into my second year of music college. Gonna be paying myself a salary and maybe getting a shiny new computer for company stuffs.

If all goes to plan, I might not actually have to work for minimum wage all weekend every weekend. If that happens, I might just dust off my champ Arabian, mighty polaxe, lordly heraldic trans and masterwork heavy lance and come on to poke people again.

Sloppy kisses from your friendly neighbourhood lancer.

Aright all,

Been deprived of internet for about 5 months now and crested the hill of crpg-withdrawl a long time ago.

Internet might be arriving soon, and I plan on relapsing for a bit.

What has happened since I been gone?

Tyvm!

As someone (the only player?) that has played 7+ months on both EU and NA, I will share with you my observation on the fundamental differences between NA and EU. I accept that this is a dated evaluation (I have been back in EU for several months), none the less it appears to still apply.

With regards to melee, NA has some very good players, as good as anybody in EU, but the servers are full of poor players who crutch on str. Perhaps because of the dominance of balanced or agi-balanced builds, the average skill level on EU is far higher. On NA servers as a skilled duelist you will encounter only a handful of people who are actually a challenge, whereas on EU every other fight will be a challenge.

This applies equally to ranged, as was demonstrated in last strat. EU ranged groups consistently tore apart their NA counterparts. It is not a question of higher individual skill as such, simply that there are more good EU players who have been playing longer.

Cav standard on NA was much lower than EU. Having learned to lance from Oberyn and Assarhaddon in the early days of EU, it was 6 months or so before any NA cav posed a serious threat, and a gain only a handful of players.

I do not necessarily think that it is the case that EU is a more developed meta-game. This would not explain the differing paths the communities have taken. EU never saw throwing dominance the way NA did, nor did it go through a phase of full str builds. I think it is rather a difference in gaming mentality between a community that is largely made up of players from the same country and a community of players from all over Europe. There will inevitably be some kinds of correlation, and on the EU you are constantly being tested by different and varied playstyles of all skill levels. On NA it just seems more homogeneous.

I do not consider any of this as gospel. Just my 2p, for what its worth.

Also, ManOfWar could go toe to toe with anybody in EU very comfortably (With the possible exception of Chimp. NA, think crymoar with a katana.)

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Build for throwing lances
« on: September 09, 2011, 07:04:28 pm »
The problem with lances is that you really need to be 1-shotting people for them to be worth taking over, say, jarids or hvy axes. unfortunately to do that you need 8+ PT. with 8 PT you either have to put little/ no wpf in other proficiency OR wear peasant gear.

As such, I would strongly reccomend you get a shield and go for 24/12 with 8 Ps/PT with 4 shield, ath and Wm. you might be able to wear some light armor, but you'll have to figure it out on the wpf split. Even with 8 PT you will rarely 1-shot anybody with medium or higher armor, and with only 4 lances and slow movement you will go down rly fast and get frustrated at your lack of effectiveness.

As far as I can figure out, the only really effective way to make throwing work is to take a shield and 9 axes and play as a 1-hander with ranged capabilities. I really don't rate naked pure throwers with 16 spears. They may be fun to mess about with for a bit but I just can't see them being a viable playstyle as a main. too situational, too restricted by the ridiculous PT/Wpf requirement.

This.

I think its really cool, tbh. The closest thing to a combo attack we have. Watching Xquality rip through teams with quick 1-2s is a joy.
