cRPG Technical problems / Re: NA_2 + Lag?

Nope. NA2 is down for me as well. I'm going to assume it's to update the server with the proper removal of polestun and dead body hit absorption, but that's wishful thinking. It could just be technical problems.

After being invited by one of Astralis' members I decided to apply. Because I was invited personally I feel entitled to be accepted IMMEDIATELY. I'll jump in ts eventually to introduce myself.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Best 2H Sword

You shouldn't hate stabbing. It's one of the best features of the 2h sword. The reason why is because with good timing you will always hit first against another 2her swinging the other 3 directions, even if the guy you're fighting has a longer or faster sword. Plus it's a very useful attack for taking enemies by surprise (esp coming up the walls on siege ladders) and can poke enemies distracted in duels with your teammates without as much chance of twing.

Stabs aren't precisely in the middle of your screen. They're slightly to your upper left. Compensate for this by aiming somewhat to the right. You also need some room to stab so you should never try it if your're smushed up against someone. However, if your stab is already about 50% through the animation you can hit people extremely close to you. Don't be afraid to turn while swinging because stabs will allow at least 30 degrees of motion left or right.

Good stabbing weapons include the German Greatsword (poor slashing ability, great stab. Wouldn't recommend), Danish Greatsword (longest length, good cut, good stab), and the Sword of War (good cut, good stab, 1 point faster. My weapon of choice). You could use the Highland Claymore but it's a little too short for how slow it is. Sword of War is longer and faster, which means you'll have a better chance of hitting against most 2hers.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: 2h Sword STR Build Advice

what weapon are you planning on using DerFurst?

that would determine what build I would suggest...

Not sold on my favorite weapon yet. I've found that the Longsword, Highland Claymore, and Danish Greatsword are all great potential looms.

Had more success with the danish than longsword, but wonder if length is something I should give up for the claymore's extra stopping power.

Beginner's Help and Guides / 2h Sword STR Build Advice
« on: July 16, 2012, 07:47:14 am »
This thread is both my introduction and a question. Perhaps that could be interpereted as me introducing you all to a question?

I started playing cRPG at the beginning of the week and was immediately hooked. I'm a competant 2h dueler, being able to block and feint to my heart's content. However, there was something I immediately noticed. Being good at Native was one thing, but skill will only get you so far in cRPG. So with that in mind, I need a little help deciding what final build is best for what I'm looking to do.

In most siege battles, agi ninjas are good for hit and run, but are squishy and do too little damage to be practical. What I'm looking for is a STR build that can hit hard and is fast enough not to be easily overtaken by multiple enemies. With that in mind, I have a few build ideas to run through:

31/9, 27/12, 24/15, 21/18

I don't care too much for running heavy armor, and find that medium armor is more than enough to soak up stray hits. I'm only concerned about damage output at the price of speed. Which one is the best for what I'm looking for? If I've left out a decent STR build, please suggest another one.
