General Discussion / Re: so what polearms make horses rear now?

I was able to rear a horse on a battle server as a level 3 peasant with a pitchfork. Which prompted the nearby 2h guy to kill the cav guy almost instantaniously. Was quite amusing!

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Best build for 2 slot archer.

I'm leveling up an archer right now doing the 18/21 build that was mentioned. I found that I am doing better with a Rus Bow and Tartar Arrows than the Longbow. The longbow is just to slow for me. If I was in a fixed position this might be ok, but having to run around on the battlefield this is just not the case.

EDIT: Also, using no armour just running naked :D

I wonder wtf archer used to do before they implemented Immunity to Melee ladders....

Shit needs to go...

Or... Add a wtf pocket forcefield resistance tablet wich gives immunity to ranged until the admin says you need to deactivate it... make it 1 slot and then when activated it gets removed from your inventory...

Think of it as being more realistic. Archers in the medieval times were a force to be feared on the battlefield and funny enough they got about as much respect then as from what I seen on this forum.

Nice. Forcing stuff like that on players to deal with it.
*obvioussarcasmisobvious*

I dislike how people spew out this "omg it's tactical and blah blah blah" talk. It isn't tactical at all.

Only use of it is quickly capturing a Rooftop with like 10 ranged, then destroying it. Trying to climb up there is suicide.

Other dimension.. You're right, a dimension of suckage.

Ironic statement considering by removing ladders you would be enforcing your playstyle onto other players.

Ok, I solved my indecision problem. I made this character into a crossbow/2h character and also made a bow archer and a skip the fun pure 2h so I can practice 2h blocking and fighting. I will probably make my next character into a shielder again once I learn how to block better. Crossbow is fun, but the reload times on the arbalest are killing me. The bow archer is fun though and I enjoy sniping people with the longbow. I still suck at 2H fighting but i'm getting better. Thanks for all the tips everyone!

Ok, just going to ask this question here since I don't want to spam up the forum with new threads.

I just got to level 23 for my 1h/shielder. I ended up picking up a crossbow for a sidearm and I like it very much. I was wondering if I wanted to specialize in crossbow and perhaps some other melee weapon what would be a good build and should I reset my character or just create a new one or just wait until 31 and do the hairloom thing?

Wow... I didn't expect such a large amount of positive feedback! Thanks for the information everyone! I did go ahead and create a skip the fun character just now and made a 2h maul wielder. Fun stuff. Actually able to kill people occasionally... I just need to get better at blocking. Thanks again everyone!

Like the title says. I been playing this for a little under a week so far. Currently have a 1h/shield character at level 19 and gotta say i'm fairly frustrated right now. I have died an incredible amount of times and killed exactly 4 people... mostly by accident. Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? Build wise I am working at the standard 18/18 1h/shield build I found in these forums. Combat wise I suck... no I more than suck. I die to other peasants with pitchforks at the drop of a hat. Is there any ways to improve? I'm just not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel here and I gotta say its annoying.
