Anyhow I've decided to play alot less because every round I lose like 1.5k gold and I"m only wearing medium armor and 1 weapon.  Upkeep is ridiculous.

Agree with this. I was really enjoying the game, but have lost 5k playing it past few days now. I'm not a vet, I only have 7k left and would have liked to buy some better equipment, but I can't. Don't want to leech.. so what's the point of playing? Wear crap armor and die quick?

Okay.. DtV still needs a lot of work. It depends entirely on the team you have, if the people have no idea what they are doing, it isn't fun at all. Plus the rewards don't even come close to paying repairs. I lost 1k trying it out last night, 2k just now playing it. To some vet serious players, that isn't much, but to us casual players, DtV is virtually unplayable now. I can't afford to play it, and I'm not even using any plate armor.

Please go with my suggestion, keep it so there are no repairs. No one will get rich without them and it will give us a little bonus to playing it. The exp isn't that much either, compared to the old version.

Just finished playing some DtV.

Not sure what the outrage is, was a fairly fun game (but most I was playing with were competent). I enjoyed it a lot, because I could use all my equipment and there was no upkeep. I say, keep DtV as no upkeep. The "rewards" as they currently are, won't cover upkeep for anyone. Plus, it would take a long time to grind on it now for gold and exp, compared to how it was. So.. let players use all their equipment without going broke, to enjoy a game against NPCs while gaining a little exp and gold.

Seems like a fair solution, than going to the opposite extreme of how it had been.

Edit: Also it didn't really seem like exp/gold reward was going up much for each new round? Those will definitely have to be increased by a lot, if you plan to have upkeep in DtV or else it will be unplayable.

Not really, I did start when there was only 1 EU server that resetted every 30 minutes, but I didn't play for long. Came back a few months ago.
Point was there was no problem with the repair costs BEFORE the patch, not for vets not for new players.

Point is there was a problem. I saved up to buy the most expensive armor, then looking around on the forums, I heard about upkeep / repair costs, so bought some about half the cost and wearing it I lose money. I know I most likely am not that good at the game, but a lot of players are at my level and they are just screwed by this. Wear weak armor, get killed quick, wear better armor, have no money. Lose lose.

Repair costs weren't too much, they were just right, imo.

Maybe for vet players who have cash reserves. Newer players, will have to deal with crappier items or just running around naked to save up being able to wear the better items.

About 20 minutes ago I was playing on EU_Pecores_DTV and got banned by 3 players.

When I came to the map, two of them were not fighting and were leeching. I waited a bit, they did not start fighting. I put in a map reset vote to get their attention that another player was waiting to play. They didn't respond, I guess AFK, so vote passed and I got to start playing. They were set to spectate. One left.

I died on that round. Next round I was fighting the peasants, saw one of them was ready to play, so died on purpose to start over for him. We began to play, moved on to the next round. The other guy who was leeching returned, plus someone else. The alive leecher died, I continued to fight. A poll was put up by one of them to ban me, it failed, but then they did another and it passed.

I'd like it removed (I'd ask for those guys banned if possible), character's name is Lady_Diesalot.

Is there a way to contact an Admin when banned by jerks?!

EU_Pecores_DTV -> One of my favorite maps, and the only other DTV server at the moment, seems to kick all the time. I came on to play, two people were not fighting and were leeching. I waited a while, hoping they'd notice someone waiting to play. They didn't, so I put in a vote for a map reset to get their attention. Guess they were both afk, since neither voted and it passed. So I started playing.

One left the map, the other started playing as well. The other person returned, and they put in a vote to ban me, passed it and now I am banned. Seemingly because I interrupted their leeching.

Any recourse to this or am I just screwed?

So currently been playing Pike / Crossbow and was wanting to go heavy armor for close combat, but read the weight would hurt xbow. Here is my build (have left my options open).

Using: Pike, Hunting Crossbow, Bolts, Cavalry Robe, Ankle Boots, Sipahi Helmet.

I have 41k gold saved up, to buy equipment. I was thinking of getting the Gothic Plate with Bevor or Black Armor (not sure yet which would be better) then a blunt polearm like the Long Hafted Spiked Mace. Should work well for close combat? The pike I have noticed (unless I just suck at it) is when people get close I can't hit them. Eventually I'd add some better headgear, legs too. But would that nerf the xbow too much or with some wpf it'd be fine, just can't snipe?

Tips please, more IF if I go close combat? Go more str or more agi? Reading the forums has left me a bit confused. Recommendations on other weapons to carry? Like the mace + something else when not carrying xbow?
