I think they could increase the "ruffian" classes. If you look many clans take the kyak, they could add this bear helm with it and more clubs and shit :D This could finally allow the bandit faction to dress like bandits instead of knights in pink briganes. :D

awsoem! the norman helm is something you should really bring to paul and others, it's great! it's a helmet which isn't to complicated, but not made gay by not having hair in you neck because of the mail. i'd wear it for sure!

Good stuff!
I just don't like that double headed axe, they were never used in battle in reality!

What about a throwing mace?

From Medievial Warrior page 46:

Some combatants would even throw their maces like a primitive hand grenade. Although rather wasteful, the impact of a thrown mace was awesomely powerful and could kill a unprotected man outright.

It facked up and I cant be arsed to remake it. xD

Edit:
Also, more knightly helmets with feathers on that come in a few differant colours would be epic.

Edit2:
I serioussly fail when it comes to texturing, too. :/

Edit3:
why could a halebard be used and not a double side axe? you re weird

Because a double headed axe would weigh far too much to be usefull. There are no records what so ever of a double headed axe being used in war.
However, they were used for chopping trees as the extra weight helped chop it and if one side goes blunt you can just flip it over.
But never in battle.

Here's a picture of a Greek pelekus, a double-headed axe or battle-axe:
Greek war axe
Swinging a double-headed, double-bladed axe like this in battle, a warrior could wreak havoc, lopping off heads and limbs in one direction, and then, on his backswing, lopping them off on the other side.

That's ancient greek, not medieval :P

Not read through all that, but is it on about a god or a myth of some sort?

Edit:
It says he is a demon.

Edit2:
Nevermind, it talks of them being used in battle.
Still, thats ancient, not medieval. :P

Bronze is 8400-9200 kg/cube meter
Steel is is 7500-8100 kg/cube meter

And all kinds and forms of weapons were used +- common. Dont underestimate the will of the humans to kill each others :D

"The halberd consists of an axe blade topped with a spike mounted on a long shaft"
quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halberd

so the weight isnt a problem

i would like to make a throwing hammer but it seems a very uncomon weapon. The only reference i could find was Mjolnir, Thor's throwing hammer and

that sell some. Dunno to do what with, pheasant hunting maybe xD
So if anyone could find reference about throwing hammer, i would be gratefull (and the nordic based clans too)

That aint no samurai hat, that's a rice farmers hat!
I like it :D
Just add a strap under the chin and tilt it backwards a little so you cant see the back of the neck too much. It looks like it's balancing on his head.

It's cool to see your motivation., keep on!

What render mode do you use, because it might be the lighting, but your textures look a bit to overrealistic to be in the game imo (this might sound weird). You should try out some sculpting programs, to get the depth on your item textures, cuz right now I see a diffuse texture, but no ambient occlusion or normal map. Maybe you've added them, but by using photoshop tools to build up a normal map from a texture, or d'you tweaked the contrast to get the AO and that doesn't really works. Well it works, but that's what they used on the building textures for warband and as -I hope- you can agree, that looks a bit shitty.

I'd say, try to avoid hard edges, that can be solved by -like I said- sculpting your normal maps.
Also, try to look at the goodlooking armours and weapons in warband, and explore their textures in OpenBrf to see how they are made.

Still, great job, I would never have the patience to do all of those assests, gratz man!

MrExxc: I'm using diffuse map, bump map and specular map sometimes. Only maps accepted by Warband shaders.
The lighting is Mental ray day light that come with 3ds max .

Thepoopy: well, for cape , i dont know much, i can see two choices: skin the bottom of the cloak to the feet, but it will be ugly i think. Or create a new skeleton and anims for the cloak, but in this case will need a professional support. There s also a "cloak mod" somewhere, but i found the cloak very too short.

Berethorn: First you will need author approvment, and what do you mean adapt, adapt to what?

Amazing!
Now, make a metal one with a little red spot on the front. And you have your jingasa right there.
Serioussly, I suggest you suggest this to be added to the game IMMEDIATLY!

A straigth flag would be ugly, else i dont know about animations in warband
In Shogun 2 they are pretty much straight, but still look good because they have a part coming out on the top too.

yeah was planning to make an heraldic metal one, where the heraldic would just be a little spot on the front, and rest of the helmet, the heraldic background color

Also what about making some new clothes, I know not many people actually like wearing the actual clothes other than in peasant mode but I think it would be great to see more spiffy clothes to choose from :D (especially samurai kimono :3)
