Title: Does sitting out a round affect your multiplier?
Post by: Lonewuelf on January 13, 2011, 03:56:29 am
I just wanted to know if sitting out a round affects your multiplier.
If you don't choose your equipment before the round begins does your multiplier disappear, remain static or change according to the results of the round?

What is  a multiplier in this game?

Its the little x# thing next to the green bar on the bottom right. It denotes the rate at which you are gaining gold and experience. A 1x means you are gaining regular gold (50) and experience (1000) per minute. If your team wins a round it goes up to 2x which means 100 gold and 2000 experience per minute. The multiplier can get up to x5 by winning consecutively.

Also, sitting out rounds doesn't affect the multiplier. I've sat out over 4 rounds AFK and when I came back I still had the exact same modifier. What resets it is leaving and rejoining the server, however.

I believe that sitting out rounds does affect your multiplier. I've missed first rounds when joining by not clicking on the equipment screen in time and started with a x2

If you select a side (ie. are not spectator) but afk during equipment screen you will still be counted as playing for that team, but you'll stay dead for the entire round.
That means that if the team wins your multiplier goes up.
I'm also pretty sure it means that you may have to pay upkeep even if you don't play.

I'm not 100% sure of this though so feel free to correct me.
