Title: second shiled
Post by: Hafling on June 28, 2011, 07:12:41 pm
Hello!

I've got a question about keeping a second shield.
Does it give more body armor to character?
Does it reflects arrows and hits from behind?

1. No
2. No

And slow you a lot.

It won't reflect or defend you totally, but projectiles have -50% damage when they hit your back shield.

I didn't know that.

Yes, damage is reduced when you are hit with projectiles in the back.

However, the extra weight will slow you down noticeably.
I never take a 2nd one unless I know I will be part of a shield wall, and not moving too much.

What about putting buckler with 3.5 weight on the back? not worth it?

You might consider buying a 2nd shield if you spend your life on horseback, otherwise it will simply slow you down too much. But afaik any shield will give the same defensive bonus so you are better putting a crappy shield on your back, as light as possible.

Bucklers aren't put on the back but on your left like small bows.
